commentary on Politics and a little bit of everything else

44% of the nations legislators are millionaire's….

That’s right……the Center for Responsive Politics has a report out that claims that 237 members are worth more than $1,000,000……the top congressman is worth about $251 million……and there are at least 7 law makers worth over $100 million……The top of the list is dominated by US Senators, who collectively average  more then $1.5 million……

Members of the House are not so rich, with an average of $622,254…Which has gone down since 2007 by almost $100,000….

President Obama is at $4 million and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is at $21 million….

And dig this…some lawmakers have done well with federal bailout companies……While others are not so lucky….In fact, several have lost huge amounts of money due the drop in stocks and other securities……

President Obama is at $4 million, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is at $21 million….

Honduras Update….No Deal…..

Contrary to the United States political and diplomatic efforts…there is no deal to return Manuel Zelaya to power (for the remaining 3 months of his term)……The countries congress must vote to implement the process…and they are in no hurry to do so…The people of the country are suffering because things remain unstable and influx ….

…And the United States is not getting the props it has worked to get, by returning the ex-leader to the helm of a country who’s military, judicial and legislative branches do not trust him….

Unemployment rises to 10.2%……

While this number is .3% points higher than economists thought it would be…the underlying figures for all of the other economic indicators show that the country is indeed out of the deep recession and very slowly getting better…payroll data and other surveys indicate that employer’s are getting more productivity out the workers currently on the job, while other employers are simply going to wait for things to pick up more (all of this is the typical lag in increased employment, coming out of a economic downturn cycle)….retailers hiring for the holidays will wait until the last few weeks before hiring instead the traditional after Thanksgiving start days…..

Note:…..The stock market has taken the news instride…..remaining above 10,000 points….

Market Summary

At 2:03 PM ET: The major stock indexes are higher today with the S.&P. 500 index gaining 0.14%. Although breadth on the NYSE does not favor either advancing stocks or declining stocks, both small caps and large caps are rallying. Among individual stocks, the top percentage gainers in the S.&P. 500 are International Game Technology and NVIDIA Corporation

Rihanna keeps it up against Chris Brown……

The very pretty young talented performer, Rihanna, has continued to reveal her hurt feelings about her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, the gifted 20 year old R& B, singer……Brown who admitted striking his then girlfriend, has had his time in court, and in front of the world ,was held accountable for his actions…..men should never let things get to the point where they have to use force ….walking away is always the right answer…….

But  Chris Brown is also only 20 years old, he is not a rapper, but a gifted singer, who made a mistake in his personal life.

It is now time to move on people…….Even his ex-girlfriend says…”I actually love and care about him,” says the singer. “I want him to do well, have a great career, have a great life and grow up”….

I agree with her….…

The more people drag this on…the more albums he’s gonna sell …..…that’s all…..

FOX and MSNBC take their hits…and add viewers and ad revenue……

Like it or not Americans like their news slanted towards their views.….While the impartial media outlets go on…the partisan ones increase their viewership at the others expense…hype and rhetoric rule the day, in the end, eh?

No Obama no voters……

A lot of democrats found out something very surprising Wednesday morning, after this past election night……with Obama not in the picture…People stayed home…Even though the president went out campaigning for some candidates (and not for others) people who walked thru walls for Obama, just were not interested this time, and didn’t go to the polls…….…

Impressions while watching Real Housewives of Atlanta's Reunion part#2….

I watched bit and pieces of the ladies of Atlanta last night and jotted down some impressions……First of all …was it me…or didn’t Kim seem hostile to EVERYBODY on the set?……She was defensive, emotional and withdrawn….…

My favorite without a doubt if Kandi…with her beautiful smile..she seems always to be open……She nursemaided Kim thru her performance on the stage of her dance hit “Don’t be tardy for the party”…ah, Kim really can’t move…Kandi sure can….

I didn’t know that NeNe was offered the song first and turned it down….ah, Ne Ne…on the stripper pole……and it turns out Kim was a waitress in a strip club!…(why am I not surprised)…good one Kim when she said she’d do what she has to make sure her kids have things…

…The rerun of Kim crying like a baby before doing the song that’s making her money and fame….

Finally, while the other women sat patiently …the show seems to revolve around Kandi, Kim and Ne Ne….…

He, he, he…I did stick around to watch the first part of the Housewives of Orange County…image jumping out of a perfectly good airplane?
