commentary on Politics and a little bit of everything else

A 21 year old US Army solider, and single mother with a 10 month old, has been confined to her base after refusing to deploy to Aftganistan…

Alexis Hutchinson, 21, a US Army specialist knew she was being deployed with her unit to Aftganistan…so she arranged for her mother to take care of her 10 month old son Kamani…When her mother realized that she was not going to be able to take the child due to the fact that she hands full taking care of a special needs daughter, an ailing mother and an ailing sister. Alex  realized she was in trouble…Alex went AWOL trying to find care for her son during her deployment, but was unsuccessful..

…She reported back for duty and explained her problem, but was told……”you have a choice to make, but your duty is to get on that plane,” Sussman (Alex’s Hutchinson’s lawyer)  said. “She didn’t have anyone to take care of her child. She thought they’d put her on a plane and take her child away.”

She was given another month to arrange care for her son…..In the beginning of this month …Hutchinson’s mother managed to fly down and pick up Kamani and take him back home with her….But when Alexis reported  in to deploy she was arrested and confined to quarters…..The Army, since the story has gone national, now says that the manner will be handled by Hutchinson’s command as a possible hardship…..

But she she did get a lawyer…..

And she has indicated she’s ready to get on the plane……

  6. that’s probably a good date…the trial ballon yesterday was testing the waters….you did see the Castle numbers?

    Comment by jamesb101 | November 17, 2009 | Reply

  7. james,
I did see them. The HCR Vote is hurting Castle big time. I’m gonna imagine we could see similar Turnarounds in IL-SEN & CT-SEN when HCR is passed.

Nice to talk to you on this blog.

    About OH-SEN,
Wonder if Brunner is really bothering challenging Fisher for the Dem. Nomination. The Filling Deadline isn’t until March in Ohio so she still technically bow out of the contest and run instead for Reelection.

If Brunner doesn’t have a better Fundraising Quarter I think she’ll bow out sometime at the end of January.

  11. democrats will very busy when Obama gets back…the war will block out everything for a good solid week because Obama is going to announce the numbers..I really believe he already has his mind up on the size and now is doing his Asian tour while Gates and Clinton bring everyone on board….the winner here has to be McChystal who got essentially what he wanted…..the Amb to Afghanistan got vague end plans added this week…..so State has some say which didn’t happen when Condi was around……

  12. you ARE hunting for seats…..he, he, he….we’ll see…ceratinly Obama had no coattails at the beginning of the month…..but I predict that he will have to step up his game to get his ‘mo’ back…and he;ll have to stay home and work the local races…without doing so he’ll lose the support in congress that he will need to keep his agenda going…..

  13. james,

To be honest I don’t have problems with Obama on the Afghan War BUT I do have problems with Kharzei. This guy is a joke. He isn’t reliable to anyone. He got us into the Afghan Mess too besides Junior.

  14. well…. right now we have to live with him( the other guy quit last week, remember)…..and to correct you…Bush decided that he was going with him…so that’s how he got there….

  19. james,

I think he’s done fine with the Chinese.

    Talking about Politics again:

I think the WH needs to dump Culver in Iowa.

On New York State if it’s a Cuomo – Lazio Race I get the impression that Cuomo could win with over 70 % of the Vote and with his coattails saving a lot of House Races like NY-23, NY-20 as well as Massas and Maffeis Districts.

I officially signed onto the ‘Marco Rubio Campaign in Florida’

  21. Ok I don’t know much about Iowa…but heed this warning…while Cuomo is in the stratosphere right now..the real world will come back in the spring….he can beat Lazio but he isn’t superman and even Obama hd some close moments with Texas and Ohio…..

  22. he, he, he…..Daniel are you comfortable with the move to the right in the party?…you do know that Meek gains every time Crist loses……..

    Comment by jamesb101 | November 17, 2009 | Reply

  23. james,
Are you joking? Cuomo will win this if it’s indeed against Lazio by around 25 Points I bet.

    Comment by Daniel G. | November 17, 2009 | Reply

  24. I think Obama has been less bellicose..but I think the right is not going to be comfortable with this from him…he better get results by 2012..or he’s gonna seem ineffective…americans like their president’s strong…even if they are wrong….Obama is walking into a political mine field……

    Comment by jamesb101 | November 17, 2009 | Reply

  25. I’m agreeing with the win…but his numbers have to come down..they can’t stay this high…Paterson is actually helping Cuomo lock this in….Obama needs to offer him something so he can exit gracefully…..

  26. The only vulnerable Statewide Officeholder is Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D) and I’m praying every Day that either Pataki or Giuliani will challenge her.

The NY GOP shouldn’t waste a chance of a Lifetime here by not filling a strong Candidate.

Cornyn needs to talk to Pataki & Giuliani again.

  29. james,

I’m pretty much convinced Rubio will beat Meek also. The Guys at P1 are RIGHT: Meek is way to liberal for Florida. He’s out of the Mainstream there.

If it’s indeed a Rubio – Meek Race someone will not like it and that’s Attorney General & GOP Governor Candidate Bill McCollum (R).

I think McCollum loses to Sink if Rubio is the Senate Nominee.

  30. Ok, ok….I keep telling you guys…both your choices are no good, from my point of view…(I’m helping you here)…..Rudy would be no good congress like I said yesterday…a win would make him last in seniority in place that goes by the rules….he could make noise but he has always been a chief…not an indian….

Second…pataki would never make it Daniel…he left this state deep, deep in debt….and left the WTC a mess…..no way is he gonna win angainst a young female democrat….

you need someone else Daniel…those two ain’t enough……

  32. james,

Gillibrand is vulnerable, don’t you get it.

As for other Race I’m still waiting on 2, DE and ND.

I think Hoeven is waiting how Dorgan is voting on HCR. If it’s a trigger Version he’s staying as Governor. However if the Final Bill contains a Public Option and Dorgan votes for it Hoeven is gonna jump in and make this a Top-Tier Race and let you sweat a little bit longer on Election Night next year.

  33. she is..but those guys are not the ‘ones’…..Rudy cause he’s a square peg going in a round hole…and pataki cause he left the place worst then he found it…your party needs to find someone else…
