Moms boxing…..black eyes, busted lips and boken noses……

Sometimes you have to go for it…..in this piece Les Carpenter of the Washington Post tells the story of suburban Washington D.C. housewives that engage in sport boxing to get themselves outside of the box…..interesting…not something your average middle age woman might want to try………

President Obama issues orders to unclassify everything…maybe?…..

Where have I heard this one before?

President Obama is going to make sure…….“no information may remain classified indefinitely” as part of a sweeping overhaul of the executive branch’s system for protecting classified national security information.

Okay……let me get this straight….I know it was a campaign promise ….but they guy has been around for a little less than a year….he has no idea what that order will mean to bureaucrats in the governmenet….but it’s agood try..because I don’t think it’s gonna matter much…..

He’s gonna come and go……

There are a lot of secrets…..

When he leaves……..

There will still be lot………

That’s the way it will always be……

John Yoo…the guy who told the government and President Bush they could torture people….

This from Mydd.com about John Yoo…….who worked from 2001 to 2003  ( Bush II ) in the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) and who wrote a series of legal opinions that provided cover for the Bush Administration’s use of “enhanced interrogation techniques” and “domestic wiretapping”…….he’s try to sell his book…..’Crisis and Command: A History of Executive Power from George Washington to George W. Bush’…….

Yoo does an interview with the New York Times reporter Deborah Solomon…….

Solomon: Do you regret writing the so-called torture memos, which claimed that President Bush was legally entitled to ignore laws prohibiting torture?

Yoo: No, I had to write them. It was my job. As a lawyer, I had a client. The client needed a legal question answered.

Solomon: When you say you had “a client,” do you mean President Bush?

Yoo: Yes, I mean the president, but also the U.S. government as a whole.

Solomon: But isn’t a lawyer in the Department of Justice there to serve the people of this country?

Yoo: Yes, I think you are quite right, when the government is executing the laws, but if there’s a conflict between the president and the Congress, then you have to pick one or the other.

Solomon: Were you close to George Bush?

Yoo: No, I’ve never met him. I don’t know Cheney either. I have not gone hunting with him, which is probably a good thing for me.

Solomon: Weren’t you invited to the White House Christmas party during your two years at the Department of Justice?

Yoo: I don’t think so. That’s the way the government works. There’s the attorney general, then the deputy attorney general and then an associate attorney general. Then there’s the assistant attorney general, who was the head of my office.

Solomon: So you’re saying you were just one notch above an intern, you and Monica Lewinsky?

Yoo: She was much closer to the president than I ever was.

This is very scary…..very scary……this guy guy set in motion a whole national security policy?????

Afhgan tension again on a NATO raid….

Here we go again……

NATO troops along with afghan troops recently conducted a ‘commmando-style’ raid in the Kunar province…..the causalities in the raid where ere eight boys, aged between 13 and 18, and two men in their 20s….according to Afghan authrities…..no bad guys…..

that’s about all everyone agree’s too….

because of the anti-america war felling there, the government refuses to admit that they sent their troops along with the NATO troops……

instead…..the government seems to be playing both ends against the middle…..helping the U.S. and NATO…while siding with the population against those same actions……

GMAC will be getting more money….again

GMAC…..the mortgage and lending people…not the car people…. are going to get another $3.5 billion to help it get back on its feet……the money will come from the tarp funds set aside last year…….

Despite the government aid, GMAC remains on shaky financial ground. Last month, it reported a quarterly loss of $767 million. The company has struggled under the weight of its ailing mortgage lender, ResCap. The unit was a major dealer in sub-prime mortgages and is still suffering from soured loans it made during the housing boom. Some analysts have speculated that GMAC might have to shut down ResCap altogether.

However, a bright spot for GMAC has been Ally Bank, its online consumer banking unit. The bank has offered some of the highest interest rates on CDs in the industry, helping bring in billions of dollars in new deposits this year. But the rates have also irked rivals and drawn the attention of regulators, since as the rebranded banking unit of GMAC, Ally has the backing of billions of government dollars loaned to GMAC.

the company will probably need another infusion of about $2 to 5 billion……

What’s another billion here or there?

New York's Governors' dad fires at Andrew Cuomo……

Basil Paterson…the ex-New York City politician has publicly reminded Andrew Cuomo about his past dissing of H Carl McCall……

McCall who ran for Governor  back in 2002 had Cuomo jump in and then jump out of the Governor’s race that year…..ruining McCalls attempt to gather steam as the first Black to run for Governor in the state…..Pataki went on to have  the job for two more terms……

Blacks in the state,  and New York City in particular,  were not very happy with Andrew Cuomo, who just come back to New York from Washington, and being the HUD Secretary fort Bill Clinton…..Cuomo has since worked very hard to mend fences with the minority community…..the punches from Paterson senior are to be expected….but Cuomo probably has the minority vote anyways…..with Paterson’s poll numbers where they are…..

No one is gonna want to be on Cuomo’s bad side if he and when he wins…..no one…..
