The United States …..not the United Nations is adopting Haiti right now…..

I was listening to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs answer questions from reporters today…..when the questions got around to Haiti I listen harder…I was looking for one question and knew it was coming sooner…or later…..

When the question came Gibbs was carefull in answering it……”sir….who is charge in Haiti, right now?…..why hasn’t the President [Obama] been able to talk to the Haitian President?”

Gibbs cleared his throat, I think…and went on to say that the Haitian President is in charge of his country…….really?

I don’t think so……

While Rene Preval is the President of the country….he is right now just a survivor of his countries worst natural tadegety…he has no army…no police force to think of..his country has no governemnt…he has just about nothing….The American’s have the assets, which are flowing into the country, and will continue for some time…..

I submit to you that we don’t want to admit this but the highest commanding military person from the United Sates acting under the UN charter and his commader-n-Chief..in consoltation with The Haiti President (if he can find Preval and talk to him) is in charge of the country at this time….(as I write this piece)….

The country is a mess…it is overwhelmed and cannot take care of itself…the only blessing is the damage from the 7.0 scale earthquake was to a certain area……

The country’s future and its number of survivors will depend on the United Sates military which will have to secure the country…serach for survivors and recover the dead…provide shelte communications and food for its populas…take care of the sick and wounded and provide security for the survivors…..

While countries from all over the world will lend a hand, and support..it will be the top U.S. Army General in a few days that will command the operation……President Preval will be located and pulled into the net’ to make decisions sooner hopefully than later…..

But with such a poor country…..American and foreign troops will have another place to be in for along, long time…..

…..as the Dog would say…’that just is’…….

But the last sentence in the piece is right on point…….

The Carlos Beltran NY Mets Caper…..

The New York Mets have an outfielder by the name of Carlos Beltran.…..He’s darn good player…but all last year we watched him move slow at times…and seem behind a step……

Turns out Beltran was having knee problems… so…..

An MRI in December, Beltran’s third since late in the season, revealed knee trouble related to an underlying arthritic condition. As a result, the Mets consented to Beltran’s request to seek a second opinion from Dr. Richard Steadman in Colorado.

The Mets were informed Tuesday, after that exam, that Steadman had recommended surgery. That conflicted with the recommendation from Mets doctor David Altchek that Beltran merely rest.

The Mets explicitly told Beltran and agent Scott Boras they wanted time to digest the information, including to discuss it with Altchek. They suggested seeking a third opinion from another doctor.

The Mets then learned Wednesday afternoon that Beltran had undergone the procedure. They did not know the surgery had occurred until after it had been performed.

“The next thing we found out he had already had the surgery,” Ricco said.

This was the topic of discussion on sports radio today in New York……

Seems the Mets got their noses bent out of shape because Beltran went and got the surgery anyways…….

The Mets then held a presser today……And  the assistant General Manager does it…not the GM Omar Mania…..

At the presser the Mets don’t say ….’we’re concerned about the player’….’we hope the surgery is a success and we sent him flowers’

Nope….They complain that they weren’t notified…that Beltran and Boras might have been insubordinate……excuse me?

The Mets fell apart last season because a lot of players got hurt…played..got more hurt….Then couldn’t play…..

Carlos Beltran went to see the Mets doctor , after seeing his doctor….then got the surgery…..because he decided he was going to the best thing for himself…..(he ‘s up for new contract next year)

Now let me ask you…..If you have a star player, who’s been hurt for a year…wouldn’t you want him to get surgery to get better…right after the season ended???

Would you want the guy to not get the surgery so he could play aanextra season and be cripple afterwards?

Is it about money?

With the fact that everyone played hurt, and the team cared less…even pushed the players to play hurt…be the reason, Carlos Beltran went and had the surgery after two doctors looking at his knee? ….and  he didn’t tell his team, who wanted him to see a third doctor? …Who might tell him to not get his knee fixed, but play hurt, again…this season?????

And why did the assistant Manager hold the presser?….not the manager?

I got a feeling I’m going to be watching a half of a team again this year, called the Mets…..and the management still doesn’t know the heck they are doing……

Note:…..Do you think Carlos Beltran is happy about all of this?…….No, huh?

Note #2:…..By the end of the day the Mets had calmed down and we’re calling their star outfielder insubordinate…..

Coakley leads by 8% in New Poll…….

This thing is all over the place….with dueing polls…the Dog still believes she wins by 5% points….ONLY ONE POLL HAS SHOWN SCOTT BROWN AHEAD..

……and that poll was from a week ago…..

Here’s the latest…….

A new BMG/Research 2000 poll in Massachusetts finds Martha Coakley (D) leading Scott Brown (R), 49% to 41%.

Key finding: Brown is ahead among independents 49% to 36%; “significant, to be sure, but not the overwhelming advantage suggested in the Rasmussen (71-23) and PPP (63-31) polls that came out recently.”

A final Public Policy Polling survey in the race will be released Sunday night.
