The line forms for the next New York State Attorney General…..

Since the current New York State Attorney General, Andrew Cuomo will be, in almost all likelihood,  the next New York Sate Governor…His spot is going to be open…..

There are three main containers for the job at this time……and the money has begun to already to come in…..These are the top people in the running……..

[NYAG]

The Dog has met Kathleen Rice several times, and has watched how she has gotten better at doing her job…..she is very popular on Long Island..and has been very tough on drunk driving convictions……the leader of the pack now is…….

Mr. Dinallo, who raised nearly $1.8 million in the period ended Jan. 11. Hundreds of thousands of dollars came from contributors connected to Wall Street, including hedge-fund manager David Einhorn, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Vice Chairman James Lee, former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. Co-President Jon Winkelried, money manager Richard Pzena and U.S. pay czar Kenneth Feinberg, the filings show.

Among other people expected to run for the post now held by Andrew Cuomo, plaintiff’s lawyer Sean Coffey got about $1.7 million in contributions, while Nassau County, N.Y., District Attorney Kathleen Rice collected about $1.4 million. Some observers expect it will cost $6 million or $7 million to mount a major campaign.

We’ll see how things develop….but remember this….

The last two Attorney General’s will have moved on to be come Governor if Mr. Cuomo moves into the Governors mansion next year…..

Burger King will sell Beer and Burgers in South Beach…….at the 'Whopper Bar'…

Burger King is planning on serving booze – with its burgers.

The fast-food chain will reveal plans to open a Whopper Bar that sells beer in Miami‘s trendy South Beach area, USA Today reports.

The place will be called a Whopper Bar……

By trying to wedge into the fast-casual dining arena with Whopper Bar, Burger King is chasing the 30-and-under crowd, which is the industry’s future growth, says Bradford Hudson, marketing professor at Boston University. But the move is very tricky, he says, because “Burger King means fast food.”

But Linda Lipsky, a restaurant consultant, says the move makes sense. “The Burger King customer is aging, so they’re just trying to grow up with the customer.”

The restaurant will initially sell Anheuser-Busch and MillerCoors beers. “You can have America’s favorite beers with America’s favorite burger,” Fallon says. More will eventually be added, he says.

The CIA is pissed…the gives out a taste of payback…..

When people get in fights…..certain things are considered ‘off limits’…..

The Pakistani Taliban and its leader, Hakimullah Mehsud, who claimed responsibility for the Khost bombing, have been getting regular visits from armed CIA Reapers drones….because they went ‘off limits’ in their direct attack on the seven CIA members in Khost….

The message that has been conveyed is very clear, and very personal…..”you messed with us…you now pay for that transgression”……

The Khost attack cost the agency dearly, taking the lives of the most experienced analysts of Al Qaeda whose intelligence helped guide the drone attacks. Yet the agency has responded by redoubling its assault. Drone strikes have come roughly every other day this month, up from about once a week last year and the most furious pace since the drone campaign began in earnest in the summer of 2008.

The increase in drone attacks has caused panic among rank-and-file militants, particularly in North Waziristan, where some now avoid using private vehicles, according to Pakistani intelligence and security officials. Fewer foreign extremists are now in Miram Shah, North Waziristan’s capital, which was previously awash with them, said local tribesmen and security officials.

While this reaction is understand able…..but it can cause risks…….

“Has the situation stabilized in the past two years?” asked the general, speaking on condition of anonymity. “Are the tribal areas more stable?” Yes, he said, Baitullah Mehsud, founder of the Pakistani Taliban, was killed by a missile last August. “But he’s been replaced and the number of fighters is increasing,” the general said.

I’m sure the CIA is well aware of that……and right now does not much care……

Someone will have to slow the action down…but for now…. it continues…..

Cablevision and Scripps reach a deal….FoodNetwork and HGTV are back!….

My wife’s happy…so I’m happy…….she turned on the TV just now, and found out her Channels are back……

Thank you guys!…..

Here’s the story…..

After a three-week feud that kept many tri-state area viewers from watching Food Network and HGTV, Cablevision Systems and Scripps Networks Interactive today reached an agreement to restore both channels.

Scripps, which owns both popular networks, yanked its programming after its contract with Cablevision expired Dec. 31. The companies were at an impasse over the distribution fees Cablevision should pay Scripps to deliver the networks to its subscribers.

The channels went dark for 3.1 million Cablevision subscribers in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.

Neither company would comment beyond a joint statement released today, though both said their primary focus during negotiations was to return the channels to Cablevision customers as soon as possible. Food Network and HGTV were restored to the airwaves tonight.

Here’s the link.…..
