Megan Fox and her large thumbs?

Really ….I mean who cares?

Megan Fox in a promotional photo for her upcoming movie, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen."

We saw her in the tube at the Super Bowl dialing….was anyone checking out here thumbs?

This from a piece in the New York Daily News.…..

It looks like the most desired woman is not so perfect after all!

The internet has been abuzz regarding new photos of Megan Fox with unusually large thumbs.

The medical term for Megan Fox’s ever so slightly misshapen thumb is brachydactyly, which is basically a fancy word for a clubbed thumb, according to local hand surgeons.

“Literally, what it means is short finger,” says Dr. Steven Bendner, a hand surgeon at Beth Israel Medical Center. “The nail of the thumb in this condition is often very short and wide.”

So?

Meet the Next Chair of the House Appropriations Committee…..

Who will most likely be Rep. Norm Dicks (Wash.-D)……..

This from The Hill.…..

Rep. Norm Dicks (D-Wash.) is poised to take the lead on defense appropriations and Boeing, a large employer in his home state, could benefit in the process.

Dicks, a veteran appropriator, is next in line by seniority to fill in the chairmanship of the Appropriations Defense subcommittee, left vacant by the death of Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.). He will be acting chairman until a formal vote.

Obey (D-Wis.), and still needed to talk to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.). The Democratic Steering Committee would have to vote on the new chairman. The Democratic Caucus would have the final vote.

The late Murtha was a close ally of Pelosi and aided her political ascent. Dicks has a good relationship with the Speaker and has fostered a connection with her during their time on the House Intelligence Committee. Pelosi supported Dicks’s becoming the chairman of the Appropriations Interior, Environment and Related Agencies subcommittee.

Those who know Dicks said the panel will make a smooth transition under him, with most staff likely to stay on. Though he has a reputation for being very aggressive and determined, Dicks is expected to lead the committee by consensus rather than personal force.

And most defense insiders believe Dicks won’t budge on one issue: the Air Force’s new fleet of midair refueling tankers.

The best bet on the tankers is still a split buy……

Nate Silver on Sarah Palin's Primary Strategy for 2012….

From Nate Silver over @ FiveThirtyEight.

If Sarah Palin runs for the Republican nomination in 2012 — and I’ve been on record for some time as predicting that she will — what are likely to be her best and worst states? And how do these strengths and weaknesses square with the Republican primary calendar? And what about the other likely candidates?

The first, very, very important thing to notice is that the Republican primary calendar will be different in 2012 than it was two years ago. Although this could change as states jockey for position and rules are amended, for the time being the Republicans have divided the states into five groupings as seen below:

The first states to vote are the traditional early states of Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina. These states are shown in light blue. Note that this list does notinclude Florida and Michigan, which jumped in the queue to try to vote early in 2008 — although who knows whether they’ll be in a more cooperative mood this time around when push comes to shove.

Next to vote are the orange states, which are grouped together by virtue of their small populations. This includes 14 states and several territories, the largest grouping of which is on the prairies and the Western frontier, although there are also several New England states. Notably, no Southern states vote in this group — the Republican calender definitely de-emphasizes the South.

There’s More…

I keep telling you people…..it’s not so far fetched……

Snow……Don't ya just love it????

I just came back from using my snow blower…we got about a foot off snow on the ground….

Back in the day when I was a kid I loved snow…..platying in it…tackle football….sled riding..all that good stuff…..

Well today I got a Snow Day…which is fine by me….I’m here mostly typing and  shaking my head at some of the silly stuff politicians and other people do…

For my break I rode around in the snow in my SUV with my wife to several stores and along the way there and back watched other people not drive to good…..

Ah, Snow……

American's are all right with abandoning "Don't Ask…Don't Tell"…is the Military?

This from PolitcalWire…..

Americans Back Repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”

A new Quinnipiac poll finds that Americans by a 57% to 36% margin think homosexuals should be able to openly serve in the U.S. military.
Voters also say by a 66% to 31% margin that the current policy of not allowing openly gay men and women to serve is discrimination.

Here’s another link on the issue from the Servicememebers Legal Defense Network………
