Daniel……Massachusetts Governor: With Charlie Baker as Republican Nominee Governor Race is a Toss-Up….

Hello Dog!

A new Statewide Survey in the Bay State shows that if Republicans rally around State Senator Charlie Baker (R-MA) they might have a chance unseating Democratic Incumbent Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA)

Rasmussen Survey

Massachusetts Governor 2010

General Election

Incumbent Governor Deval Patrick (D)  33 %
State Senator Charlie Baker (R)  28 %
State Treasurer Tim Cahill (I)  25 %
Undecided  14 %

Incumbent Governor Deval Patrick (D)  32 %
State Treasurer Tim Cahill (I)  28 %
Businessman Christy Mihos (R)  26 %
Undecided  14 %

Job Approvals

President Barack Obama (D)

Approve  55 %
Disapprove  44 %

Governor Deval Patrick (D)

Approve  34 %
Disapprove  64 %

Patrick with a HORRIBLE 34 % Job Approval Rating. Baker is surging that’s a fact. Still this Poll seems to be in line with a recent 7News / Suffolk University Poll from Mid February with had a 33-25-23 Split with Baker as GOP Nominee and a 34 (Patrick) 26 (Cahill) 19 (Mihos) Split if Mihos would be the Republican Nominee.

This could get far more worse for Patrick as time goes on.

Daniel G.

The key words here are ‘if’ and ‘could’…..the fact is Patrick is ahead in a state that Obama is currently carrying by 11%……me thinks the people of the state has had enough experimenting with electing Republicans….and Patrick is no Coakley……..even if people aren’t crazy about him.

Ah, even Rasmussen acknowledges a Patrick lead in the poll……

  1. Fact checking:

In Massachusetts a Governor who has 34 % JA has NEVER won Reelection.

  10. Memo to Daniel G.,

Patrick WINS because Obama and Co., will ensure that he wins re-election to a likely 2nd and final four-year term in November.

I’d like to see at least 2 African American governors come 2011 (Artur Davis of AL will WIN,you watch).

  12. James B, thanks.

I think Daniel G., is resistant to seeing African Americans winning statewide office.
