….Georgia Governor (R) threatens to impeach his Democratic Atty Gen if he doesn't join the suit against the Healthcare Bill…..

People are going Batshit crazy in this country…….

Now they are trying waste people’s money fighting thing’s that they will surely lose…for purely political purposes…

This from Andre Walker @ Mydd.Com…….

Gov. Sonny Perdue (R – Georgia) and the state’s GOP congressional delegation called on Attorney General Baker to join thirteen other state attorneys general across the nation in challenging the new health care law’s constitutionality.

“I am today renewing my December request to the Attorney General that he join other states in reviewing the constitutionality of this travesty. My office has already begun to review any and all legal options to challenge this legislation,” Perdue said in a news release Monday.

“The Democrats’ health care bill is nothing less than an unmitigated attack on individual freedom, choices, and the quality of health care in this nation,” said Congressman Tom Price (R – Georgia).  “Families in Georgia deserve to have their constitutional rights protected against a federal government that is imposing its will through new mandates.”

Price chairs the Republican Study Committee, a group of over 115 congressional Republicans organized for the purpose of advancing a conservative social and economic agenda in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Attorney General Baker responded to Price and Perdue thusly:

Based upon my understanding of the current Act, I am unaware of any constitutional infirmities and do not think it would be prudent, legally or fiscally, to pursue such litigation. I must therefore respectfully decline your request.

  1. James B, the Georgia Republican Party is now officially FUCKING STUPID for trying to remove Georgia State Attorney General Thurbert Baker (D) from office, we’re talking about an African American Democrat whose won 3 consecutive statewide elections as State AG in 1998, 2002, and 2006 (having been appointed to the gig back in 1997).

  3. James B, I think the Georgia GOP including outgoing Governor Sonny Perdue (R) in particular are PISSED because Baker told him to shove it with the lawsuit against Health Care Reform, even though he told Perdue and others that their lawsuit will likely fail.

  5. James B, my homestate’s State AG Greg Abbott (R) is also filing a lawsuit against the Obama administration’s Health Care Reform plan as well as he is seeking reelection to a 3rd unprecedented four-year term.

Word on the street is that Abbott is very AMBITIOUS and is eyeing either KBH’s Senate seat in 2012, Lieutenant Governor (if Dewhurst seeks the governorship in 2014) or the Texas Governor’s Mansion when Perry hangs it up in 4 years.

So for now, my money is on Abbott and Dewhurst going for the governorship in 2014 on the GOP side when Perry retires.

  7. Abbott was a former Texas Supreme Court Justice and District Judge before winning the Texas State Attorney General’s office (he’s 4-0 in statewide elections).
