The iPad launch as seen from an Apple lover……who gets to talk about it to Steve Jobs….

iPad

It’s out to the public as of today…..

To tell you the truth……

The Dog is seriously thinking of buying one in a few months when the initial bugs get worked out……

Then I can share it with my wife…..

If anyone out there gets one…..please post em up on how it is…..

It is a gorgeous spring day when I arrive at the coolest address in the universe: 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, Calif., where Apple has been headquartered since 1993. The campus, for such they call it, is enormous yet not big enough to contain Apple’s current rate of expansion. An additional site is being designed and built. After stocking up on “I visited the mothership” T-shirts at the company store (we fanboys are pathetic, I readily confess), I am shown around the canteen, lawns and public spaces. It is right to call this a campus, for everyone looks and dresses like a student. I should imagine the only people ever caught wearing suits here have been visiting politicians.

Phil Schiller and Eddy Cue are suitably bejeaned and relaxed as they welcome me for a talk about the iPad, Apple’s new product, which will be launched in a week and a half. Schiller is senior VP of worldwide product marketing, responsible for delivering Apple’s latest baby. Cue is VP of Internet services, overseeing the iTunes, App and iBook online stores.(See the unveiling of Apple’s iPad.)

Kobe Bryant will be LA Laker for 3 more years…….

Fabforum

The ‘Franchise’ re-ups……..

Kobe Bryant signed a three-year extension to stay under contract through 2013-14 with the Lakers, the only team he has ever known in his NBA career.
Bryant was already under contract this season and next season for a total of $47.8 million before the extension would kick into gear. Financial details of the extension were not immediately available.

Bryant, 31, will be eight weeks shy of his 36th birthday when his new extension reaches its end.

“We are extremely pleased that we were able to reach an agreement and come to terms on the extension at this time,” Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak said in a statement. “Kobe has been a cornerstone of the Lakers for well over a decade, helping to lead us to four NBA championships and in the process developing into one of the greatest players in basketball history.”

The 12-time All-Star and the Lakers had casually been negotiating the extension, though there had been some thought that Bryant would not sign because he hoped to keep his options open, among them the unlikely possibility that a new collective-bargaining agreement would be more favorable to high-salaried players if it got renegotiated in 2011.

The Democrats have raised more 2010 campaign money…period!…..

Daniel had a post a while ago that show cased the fact that the GOP Senate re-election committee had more money than the Democrats….

Well…that might have been then…but that isn’t true now……

Not for the GOP on any level……

Here’s the scoop……

With eight months to go before congressional elections, House and Senate Democratic candidates exceed in virtually every important campaign fundraising category. Democratic House lawmakers appear likely to reverse their seven-cycle record of being outspent by House Republicans, according to recent finance reports.

Democrats in both chambers are enjoying the traditional advantages of majority-party status — and then some. They lead in donations by political action committees, by committees affiliated with the national political parties or with House and Senate leaders, and in individual contributions to incumbent lawmakers. In some instances, their lead exceeds what the Republicans had when that party controlled both chambers in the 2005-06 midterm election cycle.

To no surprise, analysts differ by party on the causes and significance of the disparity. Some Republicans say a donations surge may still come in the campaign’s final months, particularly as the party courts new, small donors outside Washington. They also complain that donations to party stalwarts have been affected by internal squabbles with rebellious tea partiers, which they hope will end soon.

Obama chooses 'Black' on his census form……

[ Barack Obama being held by his mother as a child and as a adult ]

If that’s what he thinks he is..that’s what he is……

End of argument…..

A White House spokesman confirmed that Mr. Obama, the son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas, checked African-American on the 2010 census questionnaire.

The president, who was born in Hawaii and raised there and in Indonesia, had more than a dozen options in responding to Question 9, about race. He chose “Black, African Am., or Negro.” (The anachronistic “Negro” was retained on the 2010 form because the Census Bureau believes that some older blacks still refer to themselves that way.)

Mr. Obama could have checked white, checked both black and white, or checked the last category on the form, “some other race,” which he would then have been asked to identify in writing.

There is no category specifically for mixed race or biracial.

(Why not? )

Daniel…… Florida Senate: Who is going to endorse the Marco Rubio for Senate Campaign on Monday???

Hello Dog!

I just received word that my Senate Candidate in Florida Marco Rubio will receive a “Major Endorsement” from one of the most prominent Republican on Monday. Who might that be?

The first one which comes to my mind is former Florida Governor Jeb Bush (R-FL) and I’d say if that’s him this would likely be the Final “Nail in the Coffin” for Governor Crist.

That could do it for Rubio.

Rubio Campaign Statement:

The Shark Tank has just received word from a very reliable source that  U.S. Senate candidate Marco Rubio will receive an endorsement from one of the most prominent names in politics, and that it will be announced on Monday April 5th. The Rubio for Senate campaign will hold a press conference to make the formal announcement at  the Renaissance Ballrooms located at 2340 SW 32 Avenue in Coral Gables, Florida at 10:30 AM.  All are invited to attend.

As for who the mystery endorser is, ‘mum’ is the word for now.  The editors of the Shark Tank have promised to keep their jaws shut and be content to lurk the depths of the coastal waterways until the appointed time.  I will add that loyalty to friends and family is of paramount concern in this crazy political world we choose to live in, and backstabbing will ultimately come around to bite you in the fin. hint hint, wink wink!

The Mets have finally received positive news regarding a key player: closer Francisco Rodriguez is expected to return to the team late Sunday, and could even attend a workout that morning at Citi Field, a source close to the pitcher told the Daily News.

Rodriguez left the team Thursday after receiving news that his brother had been hospitalized following a car accident in Caracas, Venezuela.

Already reeling from the bad news that Daniel Murphy is out 2-6 weeks with a knee injury, Jose Reyes won’t be ready for Opening Day and their starting rotation is in shambles, the Mets  surely welcomed the news about their closer.
