Feingold to re-introduce a flexible 'Get out of Afghanistan ' Bill……

This from The Hill…….

Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) plans to introduce legislation calling for a “flexible timetable” for withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

Feingold, a critic of President Barack Obama’s decision to escalate troop levels in Afghanistan, plans a bill that would seek to define what he’s called the United States’s “large-scale, open-ended military strategy” in the region.

The new legislation comes as tensions between the U.S. and Afghan leaders have become more publicly apparent over the past week, with some U.S. officials openly expressing frustration toward Afghan President Hamid Karzai over the corruption that’s plagued his government.

The President goes on the road to Prague for the START signing……

Here’s the Link……....

US President Barack Obama´s speech in the Czech capital

Standing next to the Prague Castle, seat of the Czech President, and with towers of St Nicholas church as his background, the US President Barack Obama proposed measures to reduce and eventually eliminate existing nuclear arsenals, halt proliferation of nuclear weapons, and prevent terrorists from acquiring nuclear weapons or materials. The US President called for efforts to strengthen the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, to ensure access to peaceful nuclear power while minimizing the risk of nuclear proliferation. He also condemned the North Korean missile test, which happened a mere six hours earlier. Later that day, President Obama took part in European Union-United States summit, where he met leaders of 27-strong European Union, which is now presided by the Czech Republic.

Full text of the speech can be found here.

PRAGUE (AP) — It’s not easy to say “Velvet Revolution” in Czech, but President Barack Obama came off sounding almost like a native speaker.

“Sametova Revoluce,” he told the crowd that packed a Prague square for his speech Sunday, recalling how the former Czechoslovakia peacefully shook off communism in 1989.

Cheers went up as the phrase rolled off the president’s tongue.

Obama went on to evoke the memory of Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, who helped found Czechoslovakia as an independent nation in 1918 and served as the country’s first president. Masaryk, he noted, spent time in Obama’s hometown: Chicago.

Among the locals who were impressed was Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek.

“I was almost surprised how much the U.S. president highlighted the Czech experience in his speech,” Topolanek said afterward.

Getting ready for a new Governor……Who's who…..Joe Percoco

The next Governor of the Empire state almost anyone will answer is going to be Andrew Cuomo…The One time HUD Secretary and One time Kennedy son – law…is poised to sweep thru the Democratic primary and win the general election with little or no real opposition…..

The person that will be helping to guide that transformation is a up to now little known Special Assistant to the New York Attorney General……

Joe Percoco……

[ Joseph Percoco, left, special counsel to Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, center, at the Capitol in Albany in 2008. ]

Little is know about him……..

He’s a Lawyer, and  a advance man for the Governor and much more than that……..

He’s the AG’s Protector…….

Few people outside of New York political circles have ever heard of Mr. Percoco, 40, a former high school linebacker and advance man for the attorney general’s father, Mario M. Cuomo, when he was governor.

But as Mr. Cuomo prepares to formally enter the governor’s race, Mr. Percoco, who holds the state job of special counsel to the attorney general, is emerging as a powerful and sometimes provocative figure.

“I was kind of shocked that this guy would respond to this article this way,” said Mr. Dietl, who has clashed with the Cuomos occasionally in the past.

Those who know Mr. Percoco personally are less shocked. Even by the standards of the Cuomo world, where loyalty is highly prized and grudges long kept, Mr. Percoco is known as intensely devoted to Mr. Cuomo and quick to respond to slights, real or perceived. A call about Mr. Percoco frequently yields a hurried clarification that the conversation is off the record, followed by protestations of his gentle nature. Those willing to discuss their disagreements with him say they respect his directness.

“Everyone should have someone like that working for them,” said Jack Kittle, the painters’ union official. “You don’t see that very often today. He has no other interest or agenda except in being the man behind the man.”

Governor Jennifer Granholm (D)

Analysis:

“The Dog” & Conservative Democrat often saying Arnold in CA will drag down the Republicans. Well, I could make the same Argument for Michigan.

BTW, you see it RIGHT.
This is no JOKE.
Granholm’s Numbers are really that bad.
She is the second most unpopular Governor in the Nation, after Schwarzenegger in California.
YET, her State House Speaker Dillon manages to be only behind 7 Points against the Republican Frontrunner.
This is interesting.
We’ll see how this Race develops.

Daniel……Connecticut Governor: Will Secretary of State Bysiewicz's switch to the Attorney General's Race COST CT Democrats the Governorship?

Hello Dog!

How about having similarities.

Like with Quinn I warned “The Dog” about Ned Lamont (D-CT) running for Connecticut Governor.
I said Lamont would increase Republicans Chances of holding the Statehouse in the Nutmeg State.
I WAS RIGHT AGAIN.

So I’m asking myself a Question: Will Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz’s (D-CT) switch from the Governor Race to the Attorney General’s Race COST Democrats the Governor Race in November?.

Bysiewicz was the Frontrunner for Governor in the Primary and in the General.
This was flat out STUPID for her to switch Races.

The Fallout from this move seems now clear.

According to a new Statewide Survey in the Nutmeg State former Ambassador to Ireland Mark Foley (R-CT) has now grabbed the lead over his two Main Democratic Rivals, Lamont and Stamford Mayor Daniel “Dan” Malloy (D-CT).

Daniel…..Way too early…I’ll bet things settle down and Lamont crawls back…….But this IS a surprise!

Daniel……Massachusetts Governor: Governor Race stabelizes with Patrick leading Baker by 8 Points…..

Hello Dog!

According to a new Statewide Survey in the Bay State the Fortunes of Incumbent Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA) have now improved a little. This Race now seems on Stable Territory right. MA Democrats got very worried in the aftermath of Scott Brown’s (R-MA) Victory in January. IF Patrick manages to win Re-Election he can thanks one MAN: His State Treasurer Tim Cahill (I-MA) who is running as Independent this November.
