Crist will support who he thinks is right……..

Florida Governor Charlie Crist with Florida first lady Carole Crist, left, announces that he will run as an independent for U.S. Senate at a news conference in St. Petersburg, Fla.

If elected Charlie Crist is clear that he will got with who he thinks is right on an issue…..

Clearly this an outreach to truly independent votes in Florida …and democratic ones also…

Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (I) would not say Sunday which party he’d caucus with if elected to the Senate.

Crist, who left the Republican Party this week to pursue an independent bid for the state’s open Senate seat, said he would be open to voting for a Democrat as majority leader.

“I’ll caucus with the people of Florida,” Crist said during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”

Crist had vowed until this past week to run as a Republican, but abandoned that bid after polls showed his conservative primary challenger, former state House Speaker Marco Rubio, set to beat him in a Republican primary.

But the centrist governor said he might end up caucusing with neither party, unlike the Senate’s two current independents, Sens. Joe Lieberman (Conn.) and Bernie Sanders (Vt.), both of whom caucus with Democrats.

“I might not vote for either one,” Crist said of which party’s member he might support as majority leader. “I’m going to vote for who I think is going to be best for the people of Florida. If is happens to be a Democrat, so be it. If it happens to be a Republican, so be it.”

Crist framed his noncommittal response as being directed toward best representing Florida.

That of course in non-sense…since by doing so…. it would deprive Crist opf any chance of being appointed to a chair on any committee in the senate….

Which, of course would rob him of any spot light and extra bennies….

HE WAS ON THE FAST TRACK……( Spoke at the Convention, Right ?)

Obama held assignments on the Senate Committees for Foreign Relations, Environment and Public Works and Veterans’ Affairs through December 2006.[84] In January 2007, he left the Environment and Public Works committee and took additional assignments with Health, Education, Labor and Pensions and Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.[85] He also became Chairman of the Senate’s subcommittee on European Affairs.[86] As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Obama made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa. He met with Mahmoud Abbas before Abbas became President of the Palestinian Authority, and gave a speech at the University of Nairobi condemning corruption in the Kenyan government.

    From Wiki….

I stand by my original post statement……

  7. James B, Crist will likely LOSE a lot of his heavy GOP financial backers, who are still pissed at him for bailing to become an Independent and half of them are donating to Rubio, who everyone knows is Jeb Bush’s crony pimp.

Meek, however, is still UNKNOWN despite his 8 years in the House and 8 in the Florida Legislature.
