Daniel…… North Carolina Senate Run-Off: First Survey after Tuesday’s Primary finds Secretary of State Elaine Marshall (D-NC) leading by 5 Points …..

Hello Folks!

As you may know the North Carolina Senate Democratic Primary didn’t produce a clear Winner on Tuesday.

We’ve now the first Survey out after Tuesday’s Vote and it shows Secretary of State Elaine Marshall (D-NC) enjoying a modest lead of 5 Points over former State Senator J. Calvin “Call” Cunningham (D-NC).

The Winner of the June 22nd Run-Off Election will face Incumbent Senator Richard Burr (R-NC) in November.

Rasmussen Survey

North Carolina Senate

Democratic Run-Off

Secretary of State Elaine Marshall  42 %
Former State Senator J. Calvin “Cal” Cunningham  37 %
Undecided  21 %

Analysis:

This Run-Off Race is entirely a TOSS-UP now.

The DSCC’s preferred Candidate is Cunningham so I would expect the DSCC is getting involved cutting some TV-Ads over the next 6 1/2 weeks. It is just REMARABLE what Cunningham did by getting second place on Tuesday without the DSCC help and against an Opponent who has considerable more Name ID from previous Statewide Runs.

  5. James B, Marshall maybe the Democratic nominee in the runoff and she’s won 4 statewide elections as NC Secretary of State for crying out loud and I think her amenic fundraising is the problem here.
