The ex-President is taking up Blanche Lincoln’s cause…

He’s going back to Arkansas to campaign for her….

She’s in trouble….

I don’t think one person that he camapigned for (Including his wife ) has won anything…..

Former President Bill Clinton returned to his home state Friday to help a beleaguered ally and delivered a broadside against some of the most powerful interests in the Democratic Party.

Using unusually vivid language to describe the threat against Sen. Blanche Lincoln, Clinton urged the voters who nurtured his career to resist outside forces bent on making an example out of the two-term Democratic incumbent.

He pounded the podium with Lincoln at his side, warning that national liberal and labor groups wanted to make her a “poster child” in the June 8 Senate run-off to send a message about what happens to Democrats who don’t toe the party line.

“This is about using you and manipulating your votes to terrify members of Congress and members of the Senate,” Clinton said in the gym of a small historically black college here.

Clinton didn’t mention Lt. Gov. Bill Halter’s name – the lieutenant governor worked in the former president’s administration – or single out any specific liberal groups. But he didn’t need to.

  1. I don’t think one person that he camapigned for (Including his wife ) has won anything…..

well WE had this guy Barack(meaning lighting) that won

and there is the girl that is SUPER SEXY named Gillibrand that many have poised to win

and I am FAIRLY certain they campaigned for Carolyn Maloney

    and she might win

  2. By any means james I just do not see Bill saving Lincoln. She is too much crippled.

She lost trust after the Health Care Vote because she changed her Positions too much.

    She said:

    1. She wouldn’t open Debate on Health Care.

    2. Than she did vote for it to open Debate.

    3. Than she single-handily killed the Public Option.

    4. Than she voted for the Senate Bill.

    5. Than after it became clear the Senate Version had troubles she said she wouldn’t vote for Reconciliation.

Man, I’ve seen a Senator changing Positions by the minute like Lincoln did.

Secondly in a Run-Off it comes down to “Motivation to Vote” and Halter (and his Voters) who is getting huge help from the Unions ARE CLEARLY MORE MOTIVATED.

  3. I think she’s a better fit than Halter who is just too progressive for the state….

Politician’s change side all the time…

Look at Gillibrand a upstate ‘Blue Dog’ who is now the darling of the left in New York State

  4. At this Point just I said with Specter Lincoln is likely to lose unless she has a Major Turnaround in the Final Week.

Heck, even the Local Political Observers giving the Advantage to Halter.

  5. You’ll be happy if he wins……

He’ll be easy for the GOP to define….

The poor guy will be tripping over himself to come back to the middle/right…

    Comment by jamesb101 | May 28, 2010 | Reply

    • He will come to the middle, trust me.

AND Lincoln is even easier to define because of the Votes she has cast. Don’t get silly.

Lincoln would lose by 25 Points, Halter only by 10-15.

    • Hey…we all have our fellings….

You have this seat….. it seems anyways…..

We’re going on about a ship sinking….Boozman is doing good….

  7. james, i think halter takes the primary and lose in the general. i love bill clinton but nobody is saving sen. lincoln or for that matter halter in the general. this is not bill clinton’s arkansas of the 1990’s anymore. they just don’t like obama and dems anymore. btw if hillary were the nominee in 2008 she would had arkansas easy. unless bill clinton or gov. beebe switch to the senate race no dem is winning it.

  8. Agreed…..

My argument with Daniel is that Halter is simply too progressive for Arkansas….

Clinton is actually echoing the line that Boozman and the GOP will use on him…..

Daniel wants me to just give it up…..

  9. naw don’t give up. thats like saying just becuase my guy in 1984(walter mondale) is going to lose in a landslide to reagan to vote for the goper to save face. nope. i was 14 in 1984 but my voting age family supported fritz. my grandfather took me with him when he voted for mondale at my high school in bridgeport, ct. took me in the voting booth and showed me how it was done. i miss those old big lever voting machines.
