The 'Ragin Cajun' Carville…goes after the Obama White House……They push back….

Here’s the video.…..From a few days ago…..

Carville is pissed….He’s from…… and still has a house in Louisiana

The White House pushes back…….

Obama Oil Spill

[ Gibbs……Carville ]

The White House defended itself againstJames Carville’s scathing criticism of the federal response to the BP oil spill Friday.

During an Air Force One flight after the President’s visit to Louisiana, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters that Carville, a Democratic strategist, didn’t have his facts straight. A pool report included a transcript of Gibbs’ remarks:

Reporter: What does the President have to say about the fact that some of his staunchest supporters like James Carville have essentially turned on him, have some strong things to say about the way he’s been handling the oil spill?
Gibbs: Truthfully, I think the President answered this yesterday. I think people — I don’t think James understands all of what we’re doing. I don’t think James understood the facts.

On Thursday, Carville continued to criticize the federal response and told Campbell Brown that he believes President Obama’s advisers aren’t relaying to the President the gravity of the disaster.

“I know I’m not a Harvard law… guy, professor of law at the University of Chicago,” Carville said. “People down here know what they’re seeing. It seems the President is madder at his critics than he is at BP.”

Carville wanted to know why the Minerals Management Service, the agency in charge of doling out offshore leases and regulating the industry, was not better managed before the spill.

Carville: “I really do take real issue here and I’d like to know from the Secretary of the Interior (Ken Salazar) what was going on, because we knew this was a corrupt thing,” said Carville. Referring to an Inspector General’s report suggesting a corrupt relationship between MMS employees and the oil industry, Carville described the findings as “One of the most devastating things ever. Why this place wasn’t fumigated, cleaned out? I don’t know.”

  1. ok, now i am annoyed. i am a good democrat and defended obama to the hills but james carville is right in some ways. why obama spent only 3 freakin hours in lousiana? could he have spent overnite there and in the trenches(water) with the people whom ar suffering? hell bubba(bill clinton) would have pulled the “i feel your pain gig” and spent several days down there. i think there will be political fallout if this thing is not capped by sunday. for real. i cant defend obama on this.

  2. To tell you the truth…

  3. well, james the presidency is HARD. he wanted the job now he has to lead. just hope this thing does not get away from him. bp is the sole blame for this but he boxed himself in by shouldering the”blame”. you got take time and talk to the people on the ground than just parachuting in for a photo up and run to illinios. i know he has a lot on his plate now(economy, finacial reform, supreme court process,ect..) but this is his moment.

  4. I happen to agree…

I did the post from the WashPost that brought up the point that Obama really isn’t responsible in the literal sense….

Hell, I don’t give a shit what all of them say…..

BP is still the leader on this…The Government simply does not plug oil spills…..

The government is using BP’s plan to fight the oil spill…..

BP ‘s liability is till only $75 M by law….

That should be paid by Insurance….

The media hype…justifiably by the oil on the beach is just a shrill…

In the end Thad Allen only has BP….Obama only has BP….

No matter WTF the media does…..

  5. Anything

ANYTHING to protect the poor oil companies

    Their liability should be UNLIMITED

Indeed BP going bankrupt would be morally justified

Hey but then some rich “investors” would lose out

And we would be subjected to another obituary for the rich courtesy of Manila

    “Show me a ‘businessman’
    Ill show you a CROOK
    Who hasnt been caught yet!”

  6. Jack…..Come On!

An Unlimited liability would shut the Oil industry down…..

    No Oli…No Gas…..No Country…..

We have to be rational here…

It is this country and the planet’s National interest to have Oil…..

    This too shall pass

  11. YOU GO JAMES!
I’m 72, and I voted for Obama, but maybe you and your big mouth will get through to SOMEBODY! I am behind you, is there anyway we (USA) can attach BP holdings?
This is so sad! I get so angry watching this SH–!

I am unaffilatd , still behind Obama, hope he comes thru!’Just think if we had John Mccain and Palen–I guess we are lucky!!! I wish I could do something–and I don’t know what to do.

  12. The sad part is there isn’t much until BP get this done….
    BP is a private company….

It IS very frustrating for EVERYONE involved….

    Believe me ….

BP is gonna be paying fine money big time….
The $75 Million threshold for liability claims isn’t going to stop the government from assessing fines……

If you get a chance…. check out my other posts on the OIL SPILL…
