Daniel…..Washington Senate……Things are looking encouraging for Dino Rossi….

Hello all!

While the NRSC screwed some other Races I’ll give HUGE Props to them getting Dino Rossi (R-WA) to run in Washington State AND things are looking good for him.

Summary:

Rossi raised 600,000 $ already since announcing. Should he hold this up he’ll be competitive with Murray not just in Polling but in the Money Race too.

More importantly one-time Frontrunner, State Senator Don Benton (R-WA) is on the verge of dropping out of the Race and endorsing Rossi as soon as tomorrow.

Daniel G.

P. S. I’m pretty happy how things have gone here.

Nate Silver of FiveThirthyEigth…… will be featured at the New York Times…..

Congratulations to Nate!

He goes establishment……

He deserves it!

Damn….the numbers of hits at his site are gonna go off the chart!

Well……. with money he’s gonna get…..

He can get a dedicated server!

DESCRIPTIONNate Silver

The New York Times said Thursday that it would begin hosting the popular blog FiveThirtyEight and make its founder, Nate Silver, a regular contributor to the newspaper and the Sunday magazine.

Mr. Silver, a statistical wizard, became a media star during the last presidential election season for his political projections based on dissections of polling data. He retains all rights to FiveThirtyEight and will continue to run it himself, but “under the banner and auspices of NYTimes.com,” The Times said in a news release.

The arrangement is similar to one The Times struck with the authors of the blog Freakonomics in 2007. The Freakonomics blog appears in the Opinion section of NYTimes.com. FiveThirtyEight content will be incorporated in the politics section of NYTimes.com.

Along with his contributions to the newspaper and The Times Magazine, Mr. Silver will also work with the journalists and software developers who create interactive graphics for NYTimes.com.

“Nate won considerable recognition during the 2008 presidential campaign for his timely and prescient reports on the electoral races and on public opinion,” Bill Keller, the executive editor of The Times, said in a statement. “We look forward to his unique perspectives on statistics, covering a wide swath of issues relating to politics, culture and sports.”

Before making a name for himself with political calculations, Mr. Silver’s specialty was baseball statistics. In 2002 he sold a predictive system he had built, called Pecota, to Baseball Prospectus. He was a managing partner at Baseball Prospectus until he stepped down in March 2009.

By then, he had turned his attention primarily to politics. In the early months of the last presidential election, Mr. Silver was disenchanted with media coverage and analysis of the primary election polls, so he started dissecting the data in blog entries on the Web site Daily Kos. “I get as excited about polls as anyone; at the same time, I believe that people tend to misuse them, focusing more on the end numbers and not so much on the internals,” he wrote in a blog post in December 2007.

Daniel……Evening Polling Summary for Thursday, June 3rd, 2010……

Hello Folks and Good Evening!

Yes, we do have some Evening Polls out tonight. Let’s get started.

Connecticut Governor:

Malloy (D)  44 %  ,  Foley (R)  35 %  (Rasmussen Reports Survey)
Malloy (D)  44 %  ,  Fedele (R)  28 %  (Rasmussen Reports Survey)
Foley (R)  38 %  ,  Lamont (D)  36 %  (Rasmussen Reports Survey)
Lamont (D)  43 %  ,  Fedele (R)  34 %  (Rasmussen Reports Survey)

Note:

I don’t how much I told “The Dog” that with Lamont Democrats would be losing CT Governor and with Malloy they would be winning CT-GOV. I think I’m right. I’m also aware of that Malloy actually beat Lamont at the CT Democratic State Convention.

NV-SEN GOP Primary:

Angle  34 %  ,  Lowden  25 %  ,  Tarkanian  24 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)
Nevada Senate:

Reid (D)  43 %  ,  Angle (R)  37 %  ,  Ashjian (TP)  2 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)
Reid (D)  42 %  ,  Lowden (R)  38 %  ,  Ashjian (TP)  2 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)
Reid (D)  43 %  ,  Tarkanian (R)  39 %  ,   Ashjian (TP)  2 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)

Note:

Well, I think this is what you get if you don’t put up an Top-Tier Challenger against a sitting Senate Majority Leader. ONCE and FOR ALL Republicans need to realize that all 3 GOP Candidates are nothing compared to current Senator John Thune (R-SD) who beat the last Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD) in 2004. Thune had the EXPERIENCE running Statewide before only losing narrowly to Sen. Tim Johnson (D-SD). I think both Lowden and Angle are scewed against Reid. Tarkanian could make this a close Race I believe. Unfortunately Tark is unlikely to win the Primary.

NV-GOV GOP Primary:

Sandoval  48 %  ,  Gibbons  27 %  ,  Montandon  6 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)

Nevada Governor:

R. Reid (D)  51 %  ,  Gibbons (R)  31 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)
Sandoval (R)  51 %  ,  Reid (D)  41 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)
R. Reid (D)  43 %  ,  Montandon (R)  40 %  (Research 2000 / Daily Kos)

IA-GOV GOP Primary:

Branstad  44 %  ,  Vander Plaats  29 %  ,  Roberts  12 %  (KCCI-TV / Research 2000)

Iowa Governor:

Branstad (R)  51 %  ,  Culver (D)  42 %  (KCCI-TV / Research 2000)
Culver (D)  43 %  ,  Vander Plaats (R)  42 %  (KCCI-TV / Research 2000)
Culver (D)  45 %  ,  Roberts (R)  35 %  (KCCI-TV / Research 2000)

IA-SEN DEM Primary:

Conlin  48 %  ,  Krause  13 %  ,  Fiegen  12 %  (KCCI-TV / Research 2000)

Daniel G.

WOW……Daniel G!…….DailyKos has Reid AHEAD of every Republican!……Did I read that right?
Oh, you gotta post up the polling stats for that race!…..
He, he, he…..Reid is NOW AHEAD……Oh, Boy!
And you wanted me to give up on these races!!!

From Jack…..Tea Partiers and 'Mad Americans'…..

Further this whole “Mad As Hell” routine is old

Americans are always “Mad” about something

In 80 they were “Mad” about the hostages in Iran and stagflation and elected Reagan

In 92 they were “Mad” at George Bush(Jack Germond and Jules Witcover even named their account of that campaign “Mad As Hell”)

Its a way overworked term

Indeed if Americans are really “mad”

They oughta look in the mirror

THATS who they oughta be “mad” at

The Dog loves Joe Biden Stories!…..The Brooklyn Bridge CellPhone call…..

This involves Biden visiting New York’s Brooklyn Bridge…

Once there…. he meets this guy who told his wife he might see the Vice President….

He, he, he…Sure enough there’s Biden…BSing with the guy…and he tells the VP his wife won’t believe he actually met the Vice President Of the United States!

So Joe grabs the phone and talks to his Wife!

Biden is the man!

When Tom Shepherd, a chief inspector on the Brooklyn Bridge rehab project, left for work yesterday, he told his wife he might be meeting later with Vice President Joe Biden, so “I’ll tell Joe you said hello.”

What Shepherd could never have imagined was that his flippant joke would be become reality a few hours later.

Not only did Shepherd get to chat with the VP, but when he mentioned the earlier conversation with his wife, Biden suggested he call her right then and there on his cellphone.

When Betty Shepherd answered at her office, the next voice she heard was that of the vice president of the United States.

HELLO, IT'S JOE: Vice President Joe Biden shocks Betty, the wife of DOT inspector Tom Shepherd, with a call from the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday.

[ HELLO, IT’S JOE: Vice President Joe Biden shocks Betty, the wife of DOT inspector Tom Shepherd, with a call from the Brooklyn Bridge yesterday. ]
“I’m Vice President Joe Biden. I’m here to make sure your husband isn’t messing up the bridge,” she recalled Biden saying.

“I was shocked. If he didn’t have such a distinctive voice, I would have thought Tom was messing with me.”

Shepherd, 44, called it fitting that his once-in-a-lifetime encounter with a vice president happened at the Brooklyn Bridge.

“I think it was third or sixth grade when a teacher showed us a picture of them building the bridge,” he said. “I was just amazed by that. It’s been a lifelong dream to work on the Brooklyn Bridge.”

Shepherd got the chance when the city began a $508 million rehabilitation of the 127-year-old span last year, and he was hired through a contractor, Greenman Pedersen, Inc.

Biden joined Mayor Bloomberg, Rep. Jerry Nadler and other officials to spotlight the $30 million in stimulus funds going into the four-year project.

AT&T will start charging for over data use on mobile phone service……

These days most people don’t actually TALK on the mobile devices…

They text, send video, and do other data intensive things…..

AT & T is the first service carreir to restructure their billing to reflect the increase in data traffic….

Will it start the rush to the same things for other carriers?

On Wednesday,AT&T pulled away the trough. And other wireless carriers could do the same.

AT&T said it would no longer offer an unlimited data plan to new users of iPhones and other smartphones. The decision, industry analysts said, could signal a shift away from an era in which American wireless carriers sought to attract customers with simple, all-you-can-eat pricing plans for data.

The trouble for AT&T was that a fraction of users — fewer than 2 percent — made such heavy use of the network that they slowed it down for everyone else.

Starting on Monday, AT&T will offer tiered pricing. People will pay based on what they use, which the company says is fairer to everyone.

Instead of paying $30 a month for unlimited data, new customers will be given the option of paying $15 a month for 200 megabytes, or $25 for 2 gigabytes, with added charges for greater use. AT&T estimates that the more expensive plan will cover 1,000 minutes of video, 400 song downloads or a million one-page e-mail messages. Those who want to keep their existing unlimited plans can do so.

Analysts said AT&T’s move could have ripple effects on other wireless carriers and, eventually, a growing segment of the population that has begun gorging on data using their phones.

“The free lunch for the ultra-heavy data user has been taken off the menu,” said Roger Entner, a telecommunications industry analyst with the Nielsen Company…….

Daniel……Republican Candidates need to distance Themself NOT from the Tea Party…. BUT from Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin….

Hello Republicans!
We really need to hold some Republican Postitions and not get intimidated from ONE BIG REPUBLICAN GOD named SARAH PALIN. Her bad behaviour and trying to take over OUR Party is BAD, BAD, BAD. She’ll be OUR ALBATROSS for 2010 and 2012 if we don’t start soon trashing her down. She is THE BIGGEST POLITICAL CLOWN I’ve ever seen.

Therefore I urge some Candidates named Mark Kirk, Pat Toomey, etc. to distance themselves from her.

The Tea-Party is great. They have great Values. Why? Otherwise some big Political Figures like Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee or Tommy Thompson wouldn’t have endorsed Candidates associated with this Party.

SARAH PALIN is not one of us.

She just should close her voice for the next 5 Months. She’s dragging us down.

Why Obama has Israel's back…and there will Never be Peace in the Middle East….Editorial…..

A few months ago President Obama nd Secretary of State Hillary Clinton …jumped all over Israeli President Netanyahu after Vice President Joe Biden got things switched up on him during a visit to Israel….

The issue was settlements….

Obama wanted to differentiate his administration from past one’s in the eyes of the Middle East by pressuring Israel to hold on the settlements (A policy to cement gains against the Palanastian ‘s )….

For the first week Obama took the fight to Netanyahu…..

The hardliners in his cabinet orchestrated the settlement caper to remind the Americans…..and the President with the middle name of Hussian…that they would do what was right for them …in their country….

Netanyahu *  keep getting hammered for a few….In the media here...and in Israel……

The Israeli right dug in…..

Slowly over the last two weeks things began to change….

Hillary backed up….

No the United Sates wasn’t mad at Israel…just annoyed….

The Jewish congressional lobby began to speak up…..Schumer, Weiner….etc..

When this Gaza caper went down Netanyahu was in Canada on the way to the US to kiss and make up with Obama….

‘Forget about the settlements …You can do what you want’……

Then the Gaza caper….

Obama responded to that from the gut initially….

Condemning the raid….

But now a few days later…..

Obama has once more retracted his rhetoric..

During a One hour call to Netanyahu it has been  reported that Obama coached the Israeli President to check his intelligence and review what went before the decision to do the raid was given to him for his approval…

Yesterday ALL of the captives where set free…

Netanyahu now has to find away back to mending his relationship with the Turks privately while they trade barbs publicly…..

Obama is disappointing back to where every American President ends up….

COVERING ISRAEL’s back while after they get themselves in trouble……

Bu doing so…

The United States loses all impartiality in the eyes of the Middle East Body public….

Let me say something here…

The leaders of the Middle Eastern countries are not the least bit surprised by this…

They have been here before with EVERY AMERICAN PRESIDENT since the Seven Day War….

And Sadly….

This is why there will never be  a Middle East Peace…..

No President has ever been able to bring Israel to the table to deal….

The Israeli right has cut the balls out of any deal…..

For the same reason their was the raid…and there is a blockade…

Fear and mistrust between the Palestinians and the Israeli’s…

Don’t tell me that Israeli’s don’t emigrate to this country after being tired of the tension….

They do…

Don’t tell me that Palasteina’s don’t emigrate to this country because of the tension…

They do…..

Don’t tell me both parties don’t intermarry and do thing together…

They do…..

Peace….

They Don’t……

Here’s a story on the close bond that Israel and the United State have on the military level…..It is almost as tight as the US and The British .

……….Close military ties between the United States and Israel mean that Washington will be unable to convincingly distance itself from the Israeli action, and American relations with the Muslim world will continue to be difficult and, in many places, dangerous.

The bloom of optimism in the Arab world that greeted the election of President Obama had already begun to wither, as the inevitable disappointments over the lack of peace progress set in.
Now, additional boats of the “relief flotilla” carrying supplies from Turkey are expected to try to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, and with the Turkish government threatening to send armed escorts, more confrontation and tension seem inevitable.
