The Home page has gotten slow to load…

Timing out the server I use from my host hostgator….

My webmaster seems to be busy….

so I’m wait for her to fix the issue so host gator will put the site back up….

I apologize to everyone for the problems…

And it seems it was NOT your url….

But MY host that caused the problems with the site….

We’ll use this as our Open thread…..

Again…

When  ever my webmaster should be able get this taken care of ….

I’ll switch back over …

Strip Clubs Ready to Cash In on GOP Convention
The New York Times reports Tampa’s “well-known strip clubs have joined the welcome wagon” for the Republican national convention.

“Angelina Spencer, the executive director of the Association of Club Executives, which serves as a trade association for strip clubs, said an informal survey of convention business in New York and Denver had determined that Republicans dropped more money at clubs, by far.”

Sadi Spencer: “Hands down, it was Republicans. The average was $150 for Republicans and $50 for Democrats.”

  4. The big pressing issue that is on everyone’s mind today is Chick Fil A. That is basically all that is being discussed.

Do government entities, such as politicians in Boston and Chicago have been suggesting this week, have the right to stop a business from operating, simply because they do not like a personal opinion held by the business owner? In this case, it is regarding the owner of Chick Fil A’s religious views opposing same sex marriage.

This is not at all a discrimination issue involving who the restaurant serves or hires but simply because the guy who founded the chain opposes gay marriage?

Whatever your view on the marriage issue, what these groups, and liberal politicians in Boston and Chicago have been saying this week should be quite abhorrent to anyone who claims to believe in tolerance and civil liberties.

  5. As I move ever closer to my 18th, my family is pestering me about what I want for my birthday.

Personally, I’ve grown increasingly hollow to the whole notion of gift-giving in the past year.

Love cannot possibly manifest itself in a material good.

Gift giving really makes the receiver feel all guilty and as though he needs to return the favour.

Sometimes, he is wracked with guilt, as he does not feel he deserved to have someone go out of their way for him.

    Strains the heart, really.

If only there were someting that could be done such that the love is understood without one having to feel all guilty inside.

Then, and only then, can gift giving be a less painful measure.

Personally, all I wish for is that I can talk to my friend Laura S again(haven’t heard anything from her since May 13).

No material goods, just the opportunity to talk to a nice someone who shares my music interests.

That said, I feel my ashes will have been thrown into the river and that I will have reunited with my late friend Tim before I get another chance.

So now I must determine what mere pieces of paper/plastic I will ‘want,’ as ‘no’ is apparently not an acceptable answer.

    End of rant.

    • I understand you view but my wife ALWAYS tells me you give withOUT expecting anything in
      Return….

You give because you want to show your graditude….
NOT with the object of eliciting guilt….

With that in mind YOU receive a sense of accomplishment in YOUR act…
To get even an smile back….
Is just a added bonus unexpected….

      • SE….

        Give just to give….
        So you don’t expect anything….
        and you keep your smile

      • I like doing things with and giving things to people(if I think they’ll like it).

One of the more rewarding aspects of my friendship with Tim was that he loved everything I gave him.

Sometimes, people give because they feel obligated to do so.

And where’s the love in that?

I’ve thought of giving things to my favorite famous types as a show of thanks and gratitude for what they do, but the thought of them returning the favour(if they found out who the anonymous sender was) simply sends chills up and down my spine and makes my heart race, as I really don’t want that kind of attention at all(I’m kinda paranoid that way).

That, and I have everything I could possibly want(minus female companionship).

All I want is to just do my thing, with love, and go on my merry way.

Some DO give to see what THEY can get BACK

  8. Here’s my view of Mitt Romney’s books.

While his latest book(“No Apology”) may be the big seller, his other book(“Turnaround”) will probably give Independent voters more of an impetus to vote for him.

  10. James, do you think it might be possible to get your webmistress or host to put a temporary redirect on politicaldog101.com until the passing problem is fixed? That way we wouldn’t have to change all our bookmarks, etc.
