Thoughts on tonite’s races from the Dog……

Virginia Governors race…What can I say?…this one was over two weeks ago…the dem’s picked a lackluster candidate….and he went on to lose the race all by himself……

New Jersey Governors race.….I think it all started with the car accident…the people of new Jersey saw the whole incident as irresponsible….and things went down hill after that  the economy tanked……Corzine’s money was resented by people who had lost their jobs….the negative campaign against Chris Christie (his weight) started off good but turned on Corzine last week the polls show…Once the Daggert people realized that they really had no chance..they went to Christie, NOT Corzine….Obama campaigning will be used by the national media as a big deal…it wasn’t…the last Obama rally I hear was about 13,000 people …nothing for this president…the final nail in the coffin was Bill Clinton campaigning for him…the last few Clinton campaigned for lost…….

The fact is so many people thought bad of the current Governor of New Jersey that the habit of that state returning to the democrats didn’t happen……

Mayor of the City of New York……Another rich guy that got into trouble tonight…Mike Bloomberg spend more than $85 million on a campaign that narrowly netted him his job…This had to be a blow to his ego and political strength with New Yorkers and the democratic party……he was sup[posed to win by at least 2 to 15b 5 of the vote…that didn’t happen…..his third term should be his last…..follow the rules “Money Mike’ do your run and go back to Wall Street…..

NY-23rd….I’m glad to see this race where it is currently…I restores my faith in the fact the people don’t really want to go all the way to right as a purity test even in upstate New York…… I hope that Owens hangs on there, and wins for the moderates in both parties…..

Update:……Hoffman just conceded the race (NY-23rd) …..the dem’s go to sleep with at least one win…and the conservatives ponder this race….and its implications……

Is Corzine gonna pull this out?

Over at mydd.com this from Jonathan Singer……

New Jersey Newsroom has the details:

Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine has for the first time gained the lead in the gubernatorial race among all registered voters, according to a new Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey Poll.

Among all registered voters polled, Corzine holds a one percent lead with 41 percent for the governor and 40 percent for Republican challenger Chris Christie. Christie had a 4 point lead among registered voters in the August poll and a 6 point lead in July.

Likely voter screens in this race continue to put Republican Chris Christie on top of Democratic incumbent Jon Corzine, but it’s still a major development to see polling putting Corzine up among the broader electorate — particularly considering that early likely voter screens in the Garden State have been notoriously bad in incorrectly predicting a GOP advantage (think the 2002 Senate election, the 2004 presidential election, the 2005 gubernatorial election, and the 2006 Senate election). The more this race drags on, the more Christie takes hits, the more it looks like Corzine has a genuine shot at a second term — which I would not have necessarily said even just a couple of months ago.

Democrats go negative in VA and NJ……………

It’s close to crunch time in the races for Governor in New Jersey and Virginia……..and the democrats are getting worried…….So they have gone negative in a big way in both races……….Corzine is pushing Christie’s traffic tickets and the granting of contracts while he was the US Attorney…..Deeds has latched on some writings of McDonnell from the past. Corzine is within striking distance and New Jersey has come back to the democrats for the last decade…so he has a good chance to squeak thru. Deeds on the other hand has turned out to be a terrible campaigner and has lost votes steadily………so much for the GOP being rolled.

Burris, Corzine and Schumer………..

Well they are all democrats…..but that’s were it ends……..Roland Burris (D , IL) is thinking about changing his mind and running for re-election…..Jon Corzine, the New Jersey Governor is asking …….why won’t Christie answer his Freedom of Information requests on Christie’s actions and dealings as US Attorney in New Jersey?………and Chuck Schumer is on a roll……….Gillibrand, Sotomayor, Democratic senators elected, and the confirmation of the new US Attorney for the Southern District…….
