Merlin looking at the 2012 Senate Landscape…….

Hello Dog!

I know it’s very early BUT it’s never too late to look at the 2012 Senate Landscape.

The Democrats could be in quite some trouble in 2012 if they don’t have around 55 Seats after this years Midterms. Over the Course of 2009 over at P1 I mentioned a few possible Retirements come the end of this year and 2011.

One Senator who is BOUND to Retirement Rumors as soon as the Midterms are over is Wisconsin Senior Senator Herbert “Herb” Kohl (D-WI)

According to the latest Fundraising Reports with the Federal Election Commission Kohl has only 24.476,73 $ Cash on Hand at the end of 2009.

Kohl would be 76 years old in 2012 and will LIKELY draw a serious GOP Challenger like for example Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)

Kohl first got elected to the United States Senate in 1988.

Democrats have 22 Seats to defend in 2012 while Republicans have only to defend 10 Seats.

I’m sticking with my Call that Republicans will take over the Senate after the 2012 Presidential Election. Doesn’t matter that Obama is on the Ballot that year because HE CAN’T SAVE all competitive Seats – Period.

The Dog feels its way to early for any calls…..But the Senate and the House should stay as Democratic simple majorities until at least 2012…maybe longer…. if Obama can get his act together……and help his fellow party members out…..
