Merlin on the final polling numbers……..Who knows?

Hello Dog!

The Final Pre-Election Poll of tomorrows Massachusetts Senate Special Election has just been released. I doubt Rasmussen will release another one. Here are the Numbers:

Research 2000 / DailyKos Survey

Massachusetts Senate Special Election

State Senator Scott P. Brown (R)  48 %
Attorney General Martha Coakley (D)  48 %
Joseph L. Kennedy (L)  3 %
Undecided  1 %

Full Results at http://www.dailykos.com/statepoll/2010/1/17/MA/429

Key Demographic Group

Independent Voters

Brown (R)  65 %
Coakley (D)  29 %
Kennedy (L)  5 %
Undecided  1 %

That’s HUGE.

Note:

Sources telling Merlin MSNBC’s Hardball Talk Show Host spoke with Suffolk Pollster today and they’re saying Brown is leading in the 3 Bellwether Counties by DOUBLE DIGITS. Blowout???

Merlin’s Take:

After seeing this Race tied last weekend and during this week we could have an early Call tomorrow possible before 9.30pm ET.

Kiss that Seat Goodbye Democrats.

Merlin

The Dog notes that while the poll is by demoratic liberal Blog DailyKos….the numbers show the race to be dead even…that could be a sign that in the end, the denmocrats are coming home. While Merlin cites the MSNBC rumor…the Dog sticks with the thought that the democratic turnout will be the decider of this race…democrats out number republicans and indie’s in the state….with some of the negative ads against Brown, and Obama coming to town….the dem’s know their votes are needed…..it’s going to be a close one….no doubt….

Merlin on North Dakota…again……with DailyKos numbers…..

Hi Dog,

I know… I know…. Another North Dakota Post.

This time we’ve the first Numbers out without Byron Dorgan that’s why i’m wrting this.

North Dakota Governor John Hoeven announced his Senate Candidacy on Monday, BUT , today we received news that Public Service Commissioner Kevin Cramer , whose term ends this year, will give it another try, to unseat longtime Rep. Earl Pomeroy, and this time, with the current political climate, he might be successful.

So here are the new numbers:

Research 2000 / DailyKos North Dakota Poll

Job Approval

President Obama

Approve  41 %
Disapprove  54 %

North Dakota Senate 2010

John Hoeven (R)  56 %
Ed Schultz (D)  32 %
Undecided  12 %

John Hoeven (R)  55 %
Heidi Heitkamp (D)  34 %
Undecided  11 %

John Hoeven (R)  56 %
Jasper Schneider (D)  32 %
Undecided  12 %

North Dakota House At-Large

Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D)  46 %
PSC Kevin Cramer (R)  24 %
Undecided  30 %

Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D)  47 %
Duane Sand (R)  22 %
Undecided  31 %

Pomeroy could be very vulnerable especially with Hoeven atop of the Ticket. Last Time Cramer ran in 1996 he got 43 % of the Vote and I’m taking bets that this year it will be even closer. If he can unseat the longtime Congressman remains to be seen though. To be struck under 50 % isn’t good either for Pomeroy.

Full Results can be found here at http://www.dailykos.com/statepoll/2010/1/13/ND/427

The Best to everyone…..

Merlin.

Is President Obama going to have troubles with liberal's in 2012?

In order to get elected, President Obama had to give the liberal ‘s (of the democratic party) the impression that he was with them, in early 2007…Hillary Clinton’s insistence on not standing behind her Iraq vote, gave the liberals all they needed to scorn her….a year later finds the liberal’s back where they were in 2007….without a standardbearer.….the surge has angered a lot of them against Obama….the President’s willingness to live without a hard pro-life option for the Healthcare bill has angered them….the President’s willingness to go with a trigger for the ‘public option’ in that same bill….has angered them…the shelving on ‘Do Ask…Don’T Tell has angered them…..hummmmm?

I’m waiting to see how he gets them back in the fold by 2012….and you know he will.

Note:….My man Daniel is pounding me…and this doesn’t help…….DailyKos has polling data that shows that democrats are fading fast from their excitement from the Obama presidential run…..Daniel thinks this will a bad off year for the democrats and hopes for one the house of congress..I don’t think so…but Obama is gonna have to stay home in the late spring of next year and the fall a work for his buddies in congress so that they can help him in 2012…..
