It hasn’t worked that way…

Deval Patrick, the Democrat,  is comfortably ahead in his state..and should sail on to re-election…..

From Politicalwire…..

Daniel……Massachusetts Governor: Governor Race stabelizes with Patrick leading Baker by 8 Points…..

Hello Dog!

According to a new Statewide Survey in the Bay State the Fortunes of Incumbent Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA) have now improved a little. This Race now seems on Stable Territory right. MA Democrats got very worried in the aftermath of Scott Brown’s (R-MA) Victory in January. IF Patrick manages to win Re-Election he can thanks one MAN: His State Treasurer Tim Cahill (I-MA) who is running as Independent this November.

Patrick Deval wants back in…….

'People who write this guy off do so at their own peril. . . . He has started to do what he did before.' -- Kevin Sowyrda, Republican media consultant, on Governor Deval Patrick.

[ “People who write this guy off do so at their own peril. . . . He has started to do what he did before.” — Kevin Sowyrda, Republican media consultant, on Governor Deval Patrick. ]
Yep……

The Dog never thought he was out…..

After a visit from the President who has his back and gave him a shot in the arm…..and  TWO guys against him (one GOP and one Indie )….

The Deval machine is back in business…

Seeing Scott brown do his thing in the state…The Democrats and the White House in particular will not stand by idly in Deval’s run for another term

The media fallout from a second spot in Massachusetts going to the ‘R’ column would be unbelievable…..

To be sure, seasoned Democratic observers and other analysts say, Patrick still faces serious challenges on the road to November. His job performance ratings have been perilously low and the political climate remains toxic. His fund-raising has been anemic compared with the huge monthly hauls that Baker has been taking in since last fall; the Republican has built a campaign war chest that is three times the size of the governor’s.

But even though their assessments are largely anecdotal, Democrats believe that Patrick, who is holding a series of campaign kickoff events this weekend, is experiencing something of a resurgence that can be felt in precincts around the state.

“Several months ago I thought his chances of reelection were going south big-time,’’ said state Representative Eugene L. O’Flaherty, a Democrat from Chelsea and no longtime ally of the governor’s. “Now, personally, I think he is going to win.’’

“There has definitely been a shift,’’ added Somerville Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, who was an early supporter. “There were times I thought he was on the ropes.’’

Curtatone said his constituents “are recognizing a new energy . . . You can talk to people and hear it.’’

Daniel……Massachusetts Governor: With Charlie Baker as Republican Nominee Governor Race is a Toss-Up….

Hello Dog!

A new Statewide Survey in the Bay State shows that if Republicans rally around State Senator Charlie Baker (R-MA) they might have a chance unseating Democratic Incumbent Governor Deval Patrick (D-MA)

Rasmussen Survey

State Senator Charlie Baker (R)  28 %

Job Approvals

President Barack Obama (D)

Approve  55 %
Disapprove  44 %

Governor Deval Patrick (D)

Approve  34 %
Disapprove  64 %

Analysis:

Patrick with a HORRIBLE 34 % Job Approval Rating. Baker is surging that’s a fact. Still this Poll seems to be in line with a recent 7News / Suffolk University Poll from Mid February with had a 33-25-23 Split with Baker as GOP Nominee and a 34 (Patrick) 26 (Cahill) 19 (Mihos) Split if Mihos would be the Republican Nominee.

This could get far more worse for Patrick as time goes on.

Daniel G.

The key words here are ‘if’ and ‘could’…..the fact is Patrick is ahead in a state that Obama is currently carrying by 11%……me thinks the people of the state has had enough experimenting with electing Republicans….and Patrick is no Coakley……..even if people aren’t crazy about him.

Ah, even Rasmussen acknowledges a Patrick lead in the poll……
