New York State AG Andrew Cuomo is taking care of his 'Black' problem……in the race for Governor….

As New York’s political world waits for Attorney GeneralAndrew M. Cuomo to make official his run for governor, Mr. Cuomo has been quietly but methodically working to defuse an issue that helped unravel his last quest for the job.

Preparing to challenge New York’s first black governor, Mr. Cuomo has been aggressively courting black civic leaders and clergy members, hoping to forestall charges that he is again trying to thwart the ambitions of a prominent African-American in a governor’s race.

He met this month with the Rev. Floyd H. Flake, one of New York’s most influential black pastors and the leader of the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral in Queens. The two men discussed Mr. Cuomo’s potential candidacy and the need to have a Democratic ticket that was not made up exclusively of white men.

This issue is the only one that could present a bump in the road for the state’s next Governor…….

As the Dog posted up here recently…..his numbers are  such that politicians around the state are ponying up to the Attorney General, and making nice already……The current Governor has low poll numbers and $3 million in reelection funds  verses Cuomo’s $16 million…….

Black voters and politician’s can read the signs…..He’s gonna be the next Governor….

The only thing here that the Dog has been annoyed about is the White House…they are in the position to help this problem be solved..it is beyond me why they don’t offer a graceful way for Paterson to step aside …….

Is Basket Ball’s Charles Barkley right?…….Alabama isn’t ready for Artur Davis?…….

Sir Charles Barkley got interviewed at the Navistar LPGA Classic recently……When asked about Rep.  (D-Ala) Artur Davis ‘s chances of winning the up coming election for Governor of the deep south state…he gave a typical frank, no holes bared answer…..”They’re not ready. They didn’t vote for Barack Obama. They’re not going to vote for Artur Davis,” Barkley told WSFA-TV in an interview at a golf tournament..

The more things change…..the more things remain the same…….

It just is……that’s all………

Sen. Gillibrand the blah choice………

Well,….. Schumer and the White House have had their way……Kristen Gillibrand remains the democratic choice for junior senator for New York…….and quite frankly, she maybe a liability…….If someone like pollster Lee  Miringoff , up at Marist, can have George Pataki( remember the budget deficits he grew?) ahead of her by 4% points, right now , she’s in trouble………..seriously, I never thought she was the right pick, and she hasn’t, and probably never will, do well in the downstate area…like the present governor, New York Democrats have set them selves up for problems next year….Cuomo will take care of the governors spot…..but Gillibrand????

Democrats go negative in VA and NJ……………

It’s close to crunch time in the races for Governor in New Jersey and Virginia……..and the democrats are getting worried…….So they have gone negative in a big way in both races……….Corzine is pushing Christie’s traffic tickets and the granting of contracts while he was the US Attorney…..Deeds has latched on some writings of McDonnell from the past. Corzine is within striking distance and New Jersey has come back to the democrats for the last decade…so he has a good chance to squeak thru. Deeds on the other hand has turned out to be a terrible campaigner and has lost votes steadily………so much for the GOP being rolled.
