Joe Biden is aright when he speaks his mind…….

Democrat Vice President Joe Biden tells president Barack Obama he's going to Herzegovina this week

And the Vice President often speaks his mind in colorful terms….

And most people will take him for who he is…..

So will his boss……..

Most Not Offended by Biden Comment

A new Fox News poll finds that 57% of Americans did not think it was offensive when Vice President Joe Biden referred to the new health care reform law as a “big fucking deal.”

Virginia votes to block any Healthcare Law effects for its citizens…..

This is plain silly…..

These people know this is just for show…. since Federal Law supersedes state law on this issue….

What are they gonna do ……quit the union?

Virginia’s General Assembly has become the first state legislature to approve a measure that would block any federal efforts to institute health care reform.

The legislation passed, 80-17, Wednesday in the House of Delegates, after having already made it through the Senate. The bill now heads to the desk of Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell, who has promised to sign it, The Associated Press reported.

Supporters say the move preserves Virginia’s sovereignty, but the legality of such legislation is under question since federal laws generally supersede those of states.

“We never gave Washington the power to force us to buy any products of any kind,” Del. Charles Poindexter told Richmond’s CBS News affiliate. “Insurance is a product. They’re saying I have to buy insurance.”

The Assembly is controlled by Republicans but 21 of 39 Democrats backed the bill.

Thirty-four other state legislatures have filed or proposed similar measures rejecting mandated health insurance, according to the AP.

The Catholic Church wants a Healthcare Bill…….

Will wonders ever cease?

This from  David Gibson over @ Politics Daily.…..

In a strongly worded appeal that will test their political influence, especially with their pro-life and Republican allies, the Catholic bishops of the United States have told Congress to put politics aside and focus on the “moral imperative” of passing universal health care.

“The health care debate, with all its political and ideological conflict, seems to have lost its central moral focus and policy priority, which is to ensure that affordable, quality, life-giving care is available to all,” the three bishops who are leading the lobbying effort for the Catholic hierarchy write in a letter sent Tuesday to all 535 senators and representatives. “Now is not the time to abandon this task, but rather to set aside partisan divisions and special interest pressures to find ways to enact genuine reform.”

Passing legislation to provide universal, affordable health has been a longtime goal of the Catholic bishops, and in their letter to Congress (pdf version here) they reiterate that they consider health care “a basic human right.” They have even called health care reform a “pro-life issue,” although their own line in the sand against any hint of federal funding of abortion coverage and for strong conscience protections for hospitals and health care workers arguably delayed the negotiations until Brown’s victory seemed to seal the reform’s fate.

Besides abortion funding, the Catholic hierarchy is also concerned that health care reform be affordable for everyone, especially poor and working class Americans, and that it allow immigrants to buy insurance even if reform does not cover all immigrants regardless of status, as the bishops would prefer. The authors of the letter reflect that three-fold concern. They are Cardinal Daniel DiNardo of Galveston-Houston, head of pro-life efforts for the hierarchy; Bishop William Murphy of Rockville Centre, New York, their chief spokesman on domestic issues; and Bishop John Wester of Salt Lake City, their spokesman on behalf of immigrants.

Amen………

Quick Thought…This is beginning to feel like the end of Jimmy Carter's four years….

The Dog remembers a bad economy getting people pissed…..and Carter  getting blamed for it…..

The perception beginning to creep in is that the Economy aided by the Heaalthcare Bill is creating a wave against incumbents…..

And this President has better do something soon least the wave catch him also……

Note:…..There is plenty of time to rescue the incumbant swimmers…just get the darn Healthcare Bill pasted and get moving…..

The media has caught this and going to ride it to make money on the fear……

The Republicans will gladly help things along……

Merlin on Indiana's Senate Race…Evan Bayh…and some Job approval numbers….

Hello Dog!

Bad News are continuing to come for Senate Democrats. Should Republican House Policy Chair Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN 6) announce for Senate he would start the Race in a statistical tie with Incumbent Senator Evan Bayh (D-IN) a new Poll shows.

Rasmussen Survey

Indiana Senate 2010

Rep. Mike Pence (R)  47 %
Incumbent Senator Evan Bayh (D)  44 %
Others  3 %
Undecided  7 %

Incumbent Senator Evan Bayh (D)  44 %
Former Rep. John Hostettler (R)  41 %
Others  3 %
Undecided  12 %

Incumbent Senator Evan Bayh (D)  45 %
State Senator Marlin Stutzman (R)  33 %
Others  5 %
Undecided  16 %

Job Approvals

President Obama

Approve  43 %
Disapprove  56 %

Governor Mitch Daniels (R)

Approve  70 %
Disapprove  29 %

Merlin’s Take:

Man, this is really striking. How worse have things gotten for Senator Evan Bayh.  He can’t even break 45 % against lesser known Opponents like Stutzman and Hostettler. That shows you in how bad shape he is. Unfortunately Rasmussen doesn’t give us Job Approvals for Bayh but my guess is that his Numbers are in the low 50’s and maybe even below that.

As someone who supports Republican Candidates I’d say “Run Mike Run”

Merlin

Ok…the Dog is a little confused with Merlin working at warp speed and all today…..somewhere today the Dog made the comment that this race with Bayh is connected to the Healthcare Bill and that when the Bill is passed, and the issue dies down Bayh will be in better shape…..

Senator Ben Nelson (D-Neb) blinks over the 'Nebraska Compromise"……

In getting his vote for the Healthcare Bill in the Senate….. Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb) held out for the ‘Nebraska Compromise’ that would exempt the state from paying certain Medicaid fee’s……….the GOP….. sensing a weakness..has gotten 13 Attorney General’s from states with Republican Governors to threaten legal action to get the same benefit……Nelson has also ran into a buzz saw of opposition to the bill back home in Nebraska which has a republican Governor….

In a bid to tramp down some of negatives he has earned for his action….. he has blinked….

Nelson has now let it be known that he would not be averse to the policy change of having any state of the union be able to get the “Nebraska ” deal…….

Sometimes a little sunlight cause a change, huh?

Payback is a b*t#h…….

THE UNITED STATES SENATE PASSES THE HEATHCARE BILL…………

Early this morning the Democrats….alone…passed the historic Healthcare Bill by a 60 to 39 margin in the United States Senate……..President Obama spoke after the vote……

The President mentioned  that the bill was……“the most important piece of social legislation since the Social Security Act” was adopted and that it represented “the toughest measure ever taken to hold the insurance companies accountable.”

The bill would require most Americans to have health insurance, would add 15 million people to the Medicaid rolls and would subsidize private coverage for low- and middle-income people, at a cost to the government of $871 billion over 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

While the Senate Bill must be reconcile the bill with the passed House version…..the Democrats with majorities in both houses, will control the process……and there still will be issues to deal with from different factions within the party……

The occasion brought frail, 92-year-old,  Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV)  to the Capital to cast his vote. And proclaim…This is for my friend Ted Kennedy,” Mr. Byrd said. “Aye!”

Vice President Joe Biden also was present in the chamber when the votes where cast……

While there still is considerable gripping going on…the fact remains that this country is on the heels of a major change in the way it offers its citizen healthcare…..And while everyone wanted their idea of a plan…the final bill contains  afar less ambitious measure……stay tuned for the winner and losers stories…you know the media…….
