Why Obama has Israel’s back…and there will Never be Peace in the Middle East….Editorial…..

A few months ago President Obama nd Secretary of State Hillary Clinton …jumped all over Israeli President Netanyahu after Vice President Joe Biden got things switched up on him during a visit to Israel….

The issue was settlements….

Obama wanted to differentiate his administration from past one’s in the eyes of the Middle East by pressuring Israel to hold on the settlements (A policy to cement gains against the Palanastian ‘s )….

For the first week Obama took the fight to Netanyahu…..

The hardliners in his cabinet orchestrated the settlement caper to remind the Americans…..and the President with the middle name of Hussian…that they would do what was right for them …in their country….

Netanyahu *  keep getting hammered for a few….In the media here...and in Israel……

The Israeli right dug in…..

Slowly over the last two weeks things began to change….

Hillary backed up….

No the United Sates wasn’t mad at Israel…just annoyed….

The Jewish congressional lobby began to speak up…..Schumer, Weiner….etc..

When this Gaza caper went down Netanyahu was in Canada on the way to the US to kiss and make up with Obama….

‘Forget about the settlements …You can do what you want’……

Then the Gaza caper….

Obama responded to that from the gut initially….

Condemning the raid….

But now a few days later…..

Obama has once more retracted his rhetoric..

During a One hour call to Netanyahu it has been  reported that Obama coached the Israeli President to check his intelligence and review what went before the decision to do the raid was given to him for his approval…

Yesterday ALL of the captives where set free…

Netanyahu now has to find away back to mending his relationship with the Turks privately while they trade barbs publicly…..

Obama is disappointing back to where every American President ends up….

COVERING ISRAEL’s back while after they get themselves in trouble……

Bu doing so…

The United States loses all impartiality in the eyes of the Middle East Body public….

Let me say something here…

The leaders of the Middle Eastern countries are not the least bit surprised by this…

They have been here before with EVERY AMERICAN PRESIDENT since the Seven Day War….

And Sadly….

This is why there will never be  a Middle East Peace…..

No President has ever been able to bring Israel to the table to deal….

The Israeli right has cut the balls out of any deal…..

For the same reason their was the raid…and there is a blockade…

Fear and mistrust between the Palestinians and the Israeli’s…

Don’t tell me that Israeli’s don’t emigrate to this country after being tired of the tension….

They do…

Don’t tell me that Palasteina’s don’t emigrate to this country because of the tension…

They do…..

Don’t tell me both parties don’t intermarry and do thing together…

They do…..

Peace….

They Don’t……

Here’s a story on the close bond that Israel and the United State have on the military level…..It is almost as tight as the US and The British .

……….Close military ties between the United States and Israel mean that Washington will be unable to convincingly distance itself from the Israeli action, and American relations with the Muslim world will continue to be difficult and, in many places, dangerous.

The bloom of optimism in the Arab world that greeted the election of President Obama had already begun to wither, as the inevitable disappointments over the lack of peace progress set in.
Now, additional boats of the “relief flotilla” carrying supplies from Turkey are expected to try to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, and with the Turkish government threatening to send armed escorts, more confrontation and tension seem inevitable.

Was the Israeli Raid the IDF's 'Finest Moment'?

Not really……

According to former member of the Israel Defense Forces ( IDF) Marine Assault Team Shayetet 13 ……..

Victor Ostrovsky spoke to the Washington Post and outlines some countra-views to the Israel company line on the raid……

He points out that raid was poorly planed tactically….

Landing Special Ops soldiers  at night directly on boast that could have had weapons on board….

Poorly researched…

And that the IDF had have had people infiltrated on board..reporting to the inbound troops…..

Interesting piece …from a man who ran the IDF teams in the past……

The Israeli commando attack on a civilian flotilla was “so stupid it is stupefying,” says former Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky.

Ostrovsky spent six years in the Israeli navy, rising to the rank of lieutenant commander before Mossad recruited him in 1982. He quit after four years and in the 1990s he wrote two highly critical, first-person books about the intelligence service.

Monday’s raid on a seaborne civilian aid mission to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, which left nine dead and about 75 wounded, was carried out by the Israeli navy’s commando unit, “Shayetet 13,” Ostrovsky said.

“It’s a fantastic unit. … It was not typical of Flotilla 13,” he said, using the English translation for Shayetet, which he called “one of the top units in the Israeli military.”

Members of the unit “have trained extensively for overtaking a ship,” he said. “However, their training was directed at overtaking a hijacked ship.”

Evidently the tactics weren’t adjusted for this mission.

“Mossad probably had more than one man on board” the ships, Ostrovsky said, secret agents who would have been giving Israeli mission planners an accurate picture of what was happening on the vessels.

Were their reports ignored?

“At this point,” says Jeffrey White, a former Middle East analyst at the Defense Intelligence Agency, “it is hard to say if this was a failure of collection, assessment or operational preparation.”

“My sense is that somewhere in the process from collection to conduct, the notion that this would be an action against moderate opposition became fixed ….”

“The mistakes were on every level,” said Ostrovsky, “from the order to forcefully board outside the territorial waters to the actual attack.”

Responsibility for the raid, which has provoked widespread condemnation and a diplomatic uproar, should be laid at the feet of “the shoot-from-the-hip prime minister,” Ostrovsky said — Binyamin Netanyahu, whom he blamed for two previous messy intelligence operations in Dubai and Jordan.

Meanwhile Israel has released almost all of the 700 people involved in the Gaza Relief Ship caper……

The whole Caper has been a HUGE POLITICAL  embarrassing screw-up…..On many different levels…..

The Israeli’s lost on this one……

With hundreds of activists already released from jails and en route to Ben Gurion International airport, Israel’s High Court of Justice heard a petition to reverse a cabinet decision to forgo criminal procedures against activists to allegedly attacked soldiers in clashes that left nine dead.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday rejected criticism of a deadly raid against a flotilla carrying aid to Gaza earlier this week, saying the blockade of the Palestinian territory is needed to prevent missile attacks against Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Israel’s cabinet on Tuesday had debated pressing charges against activists for allegedly attacking Israeli commandos during the confrontation, but decided instead to send them home, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor.

The move to deport the activists was intended as a gesture to ease growing international isolation and a clash with Turkey over the violent incident, which Turkey said killed four Turkish nationals on the Turkish-owned ship Mavi Marama.

In a statement to the High Court, Israeli Attorney General Yehuda Weinshtein defended the expulsion by arguing “public, security and diplomatic interests prevail” over the need to pursue a criminal investigation.

Yukutiel Guzofky, an American-born law student who petitioned the court early Wednesday against the move, called the cabinet decision “outrageous.”

“Israel can’t say on the one hand say it has the right to use force to raid the boats, and then on the other hand release these people who they say have links to terrorist organizations,” he said.

Meanwhile, Israel continued to transfer the aid from the detained boats into the Gaza Strip, but alleged that Hamas was impeding the shipments, according the news website Ynet.

Israel's backers in Congress….Obama slows down his retort…..

Anthony Weiner speaks at an event.

[ Anthony Weiner has vigorously supported Israel’s boarding an aid ship bound for the blockaded Gaza. ]
After the initial ‘hot’ words about the Israeli raid on the Turkish funded relief supply convoy…..

The White House had spread the word to’ cool it’ on the caper…

The President has been reported to told Bibi Netanyahu to double-check his intelligence on the situation…

So while the Turks, British and the rest of the world is pounding the Jewish State…Obama has become quiet…

Meanwhile several members of Congress have stepped up to Israel’s defense…..

While the Obama administration takes a wait-and-see approach to the newest crisis in the Middle East, some Democrats in Congress stand firmly behind Israel’s raid of a Turkish flotilla en route to Gaza.

New York Democratic Reps. Anthony Weiner, Jerrold Nadler, Gary Ackerman, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and Rep. Ron Klein (D-Fla.) have all vigorously supported Israel’s boarding an aid ship bound for the blockaded Gaza — an act that resulted in ten deaths and a U.N. condemnation.

The comments expose a bit of daylight between the White House and some staunch defenders of Israel in Congress. Robert Gibbs, the White House press secretary, said the administration is “greatly supportive of [Israel’s] security. That’s not going to change.” And in a statement, the White House said it had “regret” for the deaths but supported an investigation to uncover the facts.

Pro-Israel Democrats aren’t being so nuanced.

“I think that members of the United States Congress understand why the blockade was in place against Hamas and support it, once you start at that place, a boat that bows into the teeth of that blockade isn’t going to be viewed sympathetically,” Weiner said. “To the extent that any time that there is a flare-up of tensions, it’s bad for U.S. and Israeli efforts of peace. We obviously had a bad weekend.”

Note….There are reports that the Israeli’s are holding hundreds of people and more ships are on the way to Gaza….
