Jack with our new Alvin Greene/Jim Demint Update…..

Today Vic Rawl filed a formal protest which means the Democratic State Committee will hold a hearing

In my view Rawl doesnt believe that he can overturn the result but is tryinbg to smoke out where Greene got the ten grand to run from

There’s an interesting sidenote to all this that I havent seen mentioned

Most people havent paid attention but Jim DeMint actually had a primary opponent

Her name was Susan Gaddy, a Charleston Lawyer

Like Greene….. she did no campaigning

Republicans loudly denounced her candidacy noting she had supported Obama and was considered a Democrat

I’m wondering if some enterprising Republican decided to similarly screw with the Democrats with the Greene caper?

If Greene’s criminal charges go away….I’m sorry…I don’t see how he can be denied his position running against DeMint….

It is surprising for South Carolina Democrats….

But what can they legally do?

They also had to be asleep at the wheel to let this happen in the first place…..

DeMint seems to be the King in the race……

The Dog….

Jack on Alvin Greene…….

Aa Democrat I am ASHAMED of my party for having this clown(and possible criminal) as a candidate …..
Where did he get the ten thousand filing fee?

From a jar he was collecting money in he says(Yeh right)

What about his pending criminal charge?

No comment he says

Hopefully they will go ahead and try him on the pending charge

Convict him

And remove him from the ballot

Dont worry Leal you can always write his name in!

From Jack……Greene and DeMint…..

No

I wont vote for Alvin Greene

I would have voted for Rawl

Although in the aggregate it doesnt matter

Demint would have beat Rawl about 65-35

He will beat this guy about 75-25

And Corey

For the record Leal doesnt agree with you that he (Leal) is mentally ill

He said so Monday

And yeh

Go Blackhawks!

From Jack…..Tea Partiers and 'Mad Americans'…..

Further this whole “Mad As Hell” routine is old

Americans are always “Mad” about something

In 80 they were “Mad” about the hostages in Iran and stagflation and elected Reagan

In 92 they were “Mad” at George Bush(Jack Germond and Jules Witcover even named their account of that campaign “Mad As Hell”)

Its a way overworked term

Indeed if Americans are really “mad”

They oughta look in the mirror

THATS who they oughta be “mad” at

Jack on telling the Cop's ….'I don't wanna say anything…..I'm Lawyering Up'………(You gotta actually say that now!)

The Supreme Court ruling today that criminal suspects must invoke their right to remain silent
is sure to stir up the Left

Witness Sonia Sotomayors vigorous dissent

I dont have a problem with it myself

And I dont see where it violates anyones rights to require them to simply say

“I dont wish to talk” or similiar words

Seems commonsensical to me

John Roberts,Sam Alito,Claerence Thomas.Antonin Scalia,
Tony Kennedy

And me!

Information on the ruling…..

The Supreme Court ruled this morning (in another 5-4 ruling) that if a suspect wants to invoke their Miranda right to remain silent during an interrogation, they must announce their intent to remain silent. You can read the full opinion here.

Kennedy delivered the opinion and the usual gang agreed with him.

Thompkins’ silence during the interrogation did not invoke his right to remain silent. A suspect’s Miranda right to counsel must be invoked “unambiguously. . . .” If the accused makes an “ambiguous or equivocal” statement or no statement, the police are not required to end the interrogation. . . or ask questions to clarify the accused’s intent. . . . Had Thompkins said that he wanted to remain silent or that he did not want to talk, he would have invoked his right to end the question-ing. He did neither.

'Jack' on Sarah Palin and BP……..

Based on what Sarah Palin said today on FoxNews

About BP

She is obviously

“UnAmerican”

And will be shortly condemned by Rand Paul

What?

You dont believe he will?

Hey he is

“Principled”

Right?

Note…..From TPL……And Wiki….

I am surprised Sarah would talk about BP considering

For eighteen years, TODD PALIN worked for BP in the North Slope oil fields of Alaska. In 2007, in order to avoid a conflict of interest relating to his wife’s position as governor, he took a leave[10] from his job as production supervisor when his employer became involved in natural gas pipeline negotiations with his wife’s administration.[3] Seven months later, because the family needed more income, Todd returned to BP. In order to avoid potential conflict of interest, this time he accepted a non-management position as a production operator.[1][10] He resigned from his job on September 18, 2009, with the stated reason of spending more time with his family.[1
