The CMT ( Country ) Music Awards……

Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert Among Big Winners at CMT Music Awards | Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert

[ Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert ]

Still recovering from the recentdevastating floods, Nashville got its groove back in a big way Wednesday night at the CMT Music Awards, country music’s only fan-voted award show.

Emcee Kid Rock opened the show, held at the Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville, by promising to punch anyone in the face who interrupted acceptance speeches with “Kanye West-isms.” That turned out not to be necessary, as country-music fans settled in for an evening of prizes, presenters and performances – including top honors for Carrie UnderwoodKeith Urban and Miranda Lambert.

The biggest awards – CMT calls them “Buckles” – of the night went to Underwood, 27, for video of the year (“Cowboy Casanova”), Urban, 42, for male video of the year (” ‘Til Summer Comes Around”) and Lambert, 26, for female video of the year (“White Liar”).

Urban gave the most poignant acceptance speech, thanking his wifeNicole Kidman – “Baby girl, I love you so much,” he said – before mentioning the people dealing with the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

“I want to send my deepest love and prayers out to all the families around the Gulf, who are going through an insane time right now,” he said. “We’ve never seen anything like this – emotions I can’t even find words for as I watch this thing happening on TV.”

Lambert, who is engaged to fellow country star Blake Shelton, won for a video that shows her running off with the best man at her wedding. “Let’s just hope that my wedding doesn’t end up like that video,” she joked.

Underwood, who also won performance of the year, was emphatically grateful to fans in her speech. “Awesome fans!” she said. “Awesome, awesome, amazing, awesome, awesome!”

All three big winners also performed on the telecast, along with artists including Toby Keith, Lady Antebellum, Tim McGrawBrad Paisley and the Zac Brown Band. Urban sang his song “Hit the Ground Runnin’ ” with John Mayer, who will join Urban for a series of duets on an upcoming episode of CMT Crossroads.

Appetite….from Up 4 Discussion………

From JSin…..

Not too long ago I was in my car and decided to listen to Usher’s album Here I Stand. It had been months since the last time I listened to the album. As I made my way through each of the tracks I finally came to a song that I definitely remembered, but hadn’t heard in what seemed like forever. It was a song that was by far one of my favorites on the album. As I listened to the song the words began to speak to me and I instantly knew that I wanted to do a post on Appetite.

This song essentially is about the appetite that men have for women, especially when they are currently involved in a relationship. For the majority of men fighting their appetite is not an easy task. As a result, some men are able to curb their appetites while others find themselves indulging it. In this post I am going to touch on several aspects of the appetite; and I will be using the lyrics of Usher’s song to assist in my analysis.

.::Stay struggling with the part of me that wants to run the streets::.

Now it’s no surprise that nearly every man has an appetite for women. This alone isn’t an issue. The issue arises when a man is involved in a relationship and still feels the need to indulge his appetite for women. If his appetite grows too strong he can find himself struggling to remain faithful to his partner. At times this struggle can be overwhelming.

.:: You’d think I’d be satisfied and truthfully yes I am::.

Yet as hard as the struggle may be, more than likely the man understands that he has a good woman at home and he really doesn’t want to jeopardize their relationship. In some cases the man may truly be satisfied with the woman he is in a relationship with, but his appetite can make things complex. In such situations the man must balance love and temptation.

.:: Ever since I put that band on my hand, more and more chicks trying to get at me. Then I don’t know what to do::.

Many men who have been in relationships can attest to the fact that women seem to become more interested in them once they are in committed relationships. For whatever reason men have more women showing interest in them when they are in relationships than when they were single. Some men are able to deal with this added attention, but some allow their ego and their appetites to get the best of them. One thing that usually is consistent in this situation is that the man finds himself, at some point or another, at a crossroad. He finds himself not know what he should do. Should he remain faithful to his woman or feed his appetite.

.:: Lately I been slippin up, fantasies bout dimes on the side::.

More often than not, the man will start to gradually feed his appetite by entertaining the thoughts of hooking up with another woman. Whether the man decides to creep or not, he will likely contemplate the thought or even fantasize about how things would play out if he were to indulge his appetite.

.:: Got a girl I don’t want to lose, I don’t want to lose. Break her heart, I do want to do. I don’t want to be that fool::.

Sade….is back……..

WHEN a man from a radio station asked Sade what she had been doing in the 10 years between albums, she told him, “I’ve been in a cave, and I just rolled the boulder out of it.”

She chuckled as she recounted the exchange, with her feet tucked up on the couch at her Georgian house in the north London neighborhood of Islington.

A January rain pelted the trees outside the window of the second-story drawing room, atop a graciously curving staircase. Sade, a slender figure in black pants and a black V-neck sweater, made things cozy, feeding kindling to a crackling fire in the hearth. An interview about her new album, “Soldier of Love” (Epic) — only her sixth studio album dating back to her 1984 debut, and due for release on Tuesday — stretched into a four-hour conversation.

“I’ve got absolutely no real perception, properly, of time,” said Sade, 51, who was born Helen Folasade Adu in Ibadan, Nigeria. Her father was a Nigerian university teacher of economics; her mother was an English nurse, and raised her in rural England after the couple divorced. Sade’s speaking voice is even lower than the husky alto in her songs, the elegantly subdued ballads that have sold more than 50 million albums worldwide.

Sade’s hits, like “Smooth Operator,” “No Ordinary Love” and “The Sweetest Taboo,” were ubiquitous through the 1980s and 1990s, purring out of radios and lending ambience to countless lounges, restaurants and boutiques. Sade emerged in the music-video era (her debut album, “Diamond Life,” appeared a year after Madonna’s did), when many pop stars believe they need maximum media exposure to sustain a career. Instead Sade has hung back, letting the songs alone define her. It’s a decision that may, in the end, make her more cherished. Fans have not forgotten her; preorder made “Soldier of Love” No. 2 on the Amazon sales chart last week.

I’m glad she’s back…although, she never really left……..

The Vivian Girls…….Musicians…..from Brooklyn…..

Vivian Girls

Ok…..this isn’t my music…….

But my youngest son hangs out in Brookyln all the time…..so the ladies get a play……

The Vivian Girls’s sound — not to mention their turbulent passage through Brooklyn’s independent-music hype machine — is a lot like the Vin Diesel film franchise: fast and furious. The female trio’s 2008 debut exploded with unvarnished punk and heat while nodding to more nuanced song craft. In a scene that seems to relish nothing so much as eating its own, however, a rather predictable backlash followed and a founding member left. Instead of giving up the bash and pop, the band recruited the drummer Ali Koehler, tours incessantly and released their acclaimed second full-length, “Everything Goes Wrong.” The Moment caught up with one of the Vivian Girls, Cassie Ramone, by e-mail during the band’s West Coast tour.

Catch the rest of the interview here.……

Actually…..I don’t think their music is his music either…but what the heck!
