Andrew Cuomo’s ‘other half’…..

[ Andrew Cuomo and Sandra Lee]

New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo is single…

But not unattached….

The divorced father of three daughter’s……

By Robert Kenndey’s daughter Kerry Kennedy…is involved with the ‘Food Channel’s’ blond Sandra Lee…..

The man hasn’t had any recent… ‘no name’ companions…..

The New York Times does a nice piece on the childless, 43 year old, Ms. Lee….

And the world she will enter as a the ‘other half’ of one of the most visible Governor’s in America….

That world will include …..

Security Details, Media attention, Gossip and a loss of privacy…….

The Dog believes that Andrew Cuomo isn’t planing to stop at Governor….

Doing her show for the Food Channel is going to be get away time for her once her guy assumes the Governorship….

Cuomo is said to be very fond of Ms. Lee, who gets along very well with his daughters…..

The girl WILL have to marry him someday……

Ms. Lee, the companion of Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, has invited his young daughters onto her Food Network show to bake cupcakes. “Good job, sweetheart!” she exclaimed after Mariah, one of Mr. Cuomo’s 15-year-old twins, expertly applied icing.

She takes Mr. Cuomo’s mother, Matilda, antiquing in upstate New York, and bakes brownies for Mr. Cuomo’s staff.

She has even become a rallying cry in the attorney general’s office. When Mr. Cuomo is flustered by a bureaucratic logjam, he is known to complain that the hyper-organized Sandy “could have gotten this done already.”

Mr. Cuomo rarely talks about Ms. Lee in public and is eager to shield her from the slings and arrows of the campaign trail.

But she is expected to join him for a kind of political coming out when he announces his candidacy for governor about a week from now. Their relationship of five years has already put her at the center of a political dynasty and raised the possibility that the state’s next first lady will be a celebrity chef, decorator and party planner whose wealth and star power outstrip that of the governor himself.

Even in New York, where Mr. Cuomo has run for statewide office twice, Ms. Lee is just as likely as he is to show up on television or stroll across a red carpet.

Or to be recognized on the street. A woman recently approached Mr. Cuomo and Ms. Lee on the street and gushed about Ms. Lee’s recipes. “I just made your cupcakes,” she said. The woman seemed to barely notice Mr. Cuomo.

Friends said that Ms. Lee, 43, had started to imagine how her life would change if Mr. Cuomo won, and the kind of role she would play if he were to become governor.

Brooke Johnson, the president of the Food Network, recalled asking Ms. Lee whether a campaign would leave her with less control over her time. She replied, “If it happens, supporting Andrew will be a top priority.”

She may think so…….But, She has NO idea what she’s getting herself into…….

The Cuomo’s of New York…..The Father and the Son……

[ Andrew M. Cuomo with his parents, Mario and Matilda Cuomo, in November 2006, when he won the race for state attorney general. ]

The history of New York State lists Mario Cuomo as one of its great Governors…..

A smart, Queens, Italian-American guy, who can talk and think quickly on his feet…and a great philosopher……

Also the father of a smart and ambitious son..who would become a HUD secretary for Bill Clinton…who would marry into the Kennedy family…And would also try to run for New York State Governor once…And mange to back out twice…and in the process piss a lot of black politicians and quite a few which ones also….

Andrew Cuomo is now running for the NEw York Governors job…again….

This time he hasn’t announced yet…..

But he’s more than 30 points ahead of any GOP challenger….And the Republican’s are in a fight for who will run against him….

One guy got ran over by Hillary Clinton a decade ago….the other just quit the democratic party to run as a Republican and as his nature…is in a scrappy fight in his new party already…

Barring a major snafu…..

Andrew Cuomo will be the Empire states next Governor….

Here’s piece on the Father and the Son….. Cuomo…

Get used to them America…..

The Dog feels  Andrew ‘s last political stop isn’t Albany…..

Now 52, Andrew M. Cuomo has his eyes fixed on claiming his father’s old job in Albany, and, perhaps, finally emerging from his considerable shadow. Mario Cuomo is edging toward his 78th birthday and is no longer the most influential voice in his son’s circle.

But the relationship between father and son is as loving, tangled and laced with competitiveness as it ever was. And Andrew’s race for governor looms as a new test of this most intriguing hybrid of a political and familial bond.

Mention one to the other these days, and the Cuomos’ eyes roll and their voices slide sardonic; they rely on friends and reporters to convey their (mostly loving) jabs at each other.

“I am a huge fan of the Cuomo family, but they are very challenging,” says Michael Dowling, who served as Mario Cuomo’s chief health adviser. “The intonation, the Jesuitical style of questioning; you close your eyes and one sounds like the other. The closer you are, the more they love to debate.”

Father and son talk multiple times each week, kibitzing, arguing, conspiring, and the former governor still calls old associates in Albany on his son’s behalf. “He asks, ‘How do you think Andrew is doing? What do you hear?’ ” says a lobbyist and a longtime Cuomo associate. “You can hear his concern.”

Mario Cuomo agreed to be interviewed for this article and offered a reporter a strategy for persuading his son to do the same. (“Andrew likes to be in control,” the former governor said. “So you call his office and say, ‘Look, I know Andrew doesn’t want to talk. But The Times, you know The Times, we are going to do this piece with or without you. You don’t want that to happen. You want to have your say.’ ”)

Andrew Cuomo, after talking it over with advisers, declined to discuss his relationship. Then his father stopped talking, too.

The Next New York State Governor…… Current Attorney General Andrew Cuomo….. is now in the spot light….

As the Dog posted yesterday…..with Paterson not running for the job he was moved up to with Eliot Spitzer’s resignation…… the spot light and power switches to Andrew Cuomo……

And with his numbers and expectations…he WILL be the next Governor of the State of New York……

For months, Andrew M. Cuomo has silently inhabited a world of grand assumptions: that he was by far the strongest Democrat to run for governor of New York; that his poll numbers were not merely overwhelming but durable; that his fund-raising prowess would turn his inevitable campaign into a juggernaut.

Those assumptions excited a lot of people, if for no other reason than that they made him seem an infinitely more attractive candidate than the man who happened to be occupying the governor’s office.

Now that Gov. David A. Paterson has abandoned his campaign, however, all those assumptions about Mr. Cuomo — not to mention his record — will be scrutinized and challenged, if and when he does what everyone expects he will in a matter of weeks: quickly wrap up his investigation of Mr. Paterson and officially enter the race.

But Mr. Cuomo, 52, is more than just a poll choice, or the payee on the checks of campaign contributors.

In three decades of public life, including two prior statewide races, he has grappled with how to present himself, and how much to change: whether to be more humble, or less contentious; how to calibrate his legendary aggressiveness to suit a shifting political climate; when to leap to the attack and when to lay low.

On Friday, as Democrats began falling into line behind him, Mr. Cuomo’s supporters pointed to late March or early April as the likeliest moment for him to declare his candidacy. Mr. Cuomo signaled that he would not be hurried into the fray.

New York State AG Andrew Cuomo is taking care of his 'Black' problem……in the race for Governor….

As New York’s political world waits for Attorney GeneralAndrew M. Cuomo to make official his run for governor, Mr. Cuomo has been quietly but methodically working to defuse an issue that helped unravel his last quest for the job.

Preparing to challenge New York’s first black governor, Mr. Cuomo has been aggressively courting black civic leaders and clergy members, hoping to forestall charges that he is again trying to thwart the ambitions of a prominent African-American in a governor’s race.

He met this month with the Rev. Floyd H. Flake, one of New York’s most influential black pastors and the leader of the Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral in Queens. The two men discussed Mr. Cuomo’s potential candidacy and the need to have a Democratic ticket that was not made up exclusively of white men.

This issue is the only one that could present a bump in the road for the state’s next Governor…….

As the Dog posted up here recently…..his numbers are  such that politicians around the state are ponying up to the Attorney General, and making nice already……The current Governor has low poll numbers and $3 million in reelection funds  verses Cuomo’s $16 million…….

Black voters and politician’s can read the signs…..He’s gonna be the next Governor….

The only thing here that the Dog has been annoyed about is the White House…they are in the position to help this problem be solved..it is beyond me why they don’t offer a graceful way for Paterson to step aside …….

Paterson wins one……Court upholds his right to appoint a Lt. Governor………

New York State Governor David A. Paterson has just received some good news …that being a welcomed victory for the guy who has had nothing but bad news……The New York State Court of Appeals upheld his decision to appoint Rich Ravitch to the position of Lt. Governor…….the 4 to 3 decision shuts down the state republican senate members play to embarrass, and contest the democrats in general, and the governor’s power to choose a Lt. Governor , specifically…...The court case came on the heels  of State Senator Dean Skelos loss during summer , of a paper thin majority, when several democrats decided to caucus with the republicans, creating a stalemate in the states political actions, for over a month……….

While Paterson get a chance to celebrate …it isn’t gonna last long…Starting yesterday…..He will be playing peek-a-boo with his parties national leader, President Obama , who is New York for the UN, and has asked that he NOT run for his current governors spot in next falls election……..
