Cuomo will not personally be involved in investigating the man with his next job…….

I think that is a good idea……being involved would be a VERY BAD thing…..

People could get the idea that he was going after Paterson….

The Dog thinks that no matter who sits in judgement…Paterson will not charged with any criminal wrong doing…..

To do so would invite a uproar…(Cuomo has already dropped more than ten points since this whole thing pointed  to him doing an investigation..first he’s gonna run over him politcally….now he could send him to jail? )

A Black, blind Governor …..being charged in New York???… ( especially with Cuomo’s past black problems? )*

Whew…I wouldn’t want be behind that……

Andrew Cuomo recused himself from two investigations his office was conducting of Governor David Paterson’s office, saying he wanted to avoid the “appearance” of impropriety, since it’s very likely Cuomo will run for governor this fall.

The first investigation is looking into accusations that Paterson and the state police interfered with a woman’s attempt to file domestic violence charges against a top gubernatorial aide. The other case involves charges that Paterson lied to investigators about his plans to pay back a developer for free World Series tickets.

“I have removed myself from the case,” Cuomo announced in a 40-plus minute conference call today, telling reporters that the cases will now be handled by former Chief Judge Judith Kaye, who will work pro bono. “There is no finer person in the State of New York to take on this responsibility.” he said.

Cuomo said he has interviewed dozens of witness, but not the governor, and that the allegations are credible.

“If there was no merit to either of these referrals, I could have saved everyone a lot of time and dismissed them. I don’t believe they are without merit,” Cuomo said. “We do believe they need to be investigated.”

In recent days, Cuomo’s public approval rating had dropped by as much as 13 percentage points, with the public saying they wanted an independent prosecutor, not Cuomo, investigating the matter.

Cuomo said polling wasn’t the reason for his move, and that it had been in the works before the numbers were released.

Governor Paterson of New York launches his campaign……

Gov. David A. Paterson returned to his boyhood home on Saturday and defiantly proclaimed his candidacy for election, portraying himself as a champion of New Yorkers struggling with discrimination and economic hardship.

“So many people are saying I shouldn’t run for governor,” Mr. Paterson told a supportive but relatively subdued crowd of about 400 people who gathered at the Hofstra University student center on Long Island. “But you need to know that this is a governor that does not quit.”

Mr. Paterson, who faces a daunting task in building enough political support to win the Democratic nomination, compared himself to ordinary New Yorkers struggling against the odds: An unemployed sheet-metal worker from Rochester, a black single mother from Queens and a family forced out of East Harlem by gentrification.

Like them, Mr. Paterson said he knew what it was like to be told to give up. And like gays, minorities and other marginalized groups, Mr. Paterson, who is legally blind, said he understood what it was like “to challenge the institutions that were, unfortunately, bigoted and ignorant.”

He also denounced what he described as a smear campaign against him in the news media hatched by special interests in Albany and by his political rivals, a veiled reference to Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo, who is expected to challenge him for the Democratic nomination.

The Dog is sorry…but it’s too little …toooooo late for Paterson……

New York State Governor Paterson…”I’m Black…I’m Blind…and I’m Still Alive”…..

"I have been depicted in a way that has been racialized, sexualized, hyper-sexualized and dissolute," Paterson said on the radio.

[“I have been depicted in a way that has been racialized, sexualized, hyper-sexualized and dissolute,” Paterson said on the radio.]

Yep….He’s right…..but the Dog is afraid it’s too late for him to keep the Governors seat past next year……

The fact remains…We think he’s in over his head at a job that was given to him, not that he was elected to….

Gov. Paterson says he’s a victim of his own past.

Paterson, appearing on Don Imus‘ radio show Wednesday morning, said rumors that he’ll soon be forced to resign are being driven by the disclosures he made just after taking office about his extramarital affairs.

“And if you noticed all of these rumors come back to those revelations,” Paterson said.

Describing the situation as “Kafkaesque” – a term referring to intentional distortions with a hint of impending danger – Paterson denied having any extramarital affairs since taking office as governor.

He also blasted the frenzy of speculation that he’s about to be engulfed in a new scandal involving his personal life.

“I have been depicted in a way that has been racialized, sexualized, hyper-sexualized and dissolute,” Paterson said.

The governor said he did not know who was behind the rumors but described it as a “well-orchestrated” effort.

“For a person who has such week poll numbers, that hasn’t raised enough money and has diminishing political support, someone is going very far out of their way to see that I am not a candidate this year,” he said.

Paterson, though, did blame the “special interest” and the media for harping on his weak poll numbers and not giving him credit for addressing the state’s fiscal crisis.

“I’m black, I’m blind and I’m still alive,” Paterson said. “Now how much better do they want me to be?”

Paterson also defended the controversial selection of the Aqueduct Entertainment Group to run the video slots at Aqueduct Racetrack and said the group’s ties to the politically powerful Rev. Floyd Flake had nothing to do with the choice.

“At the time the contract was awarded, he had already publicly stated that he was not picking a candidate in the Democratic candidate,” Paterson said about Flake.
