From Merlin……Blumenthal seems to be a lock for Dodd’s Connecticut senate seat……….

Hi Dog!

A new Statewide Survey in the Nutmeg State shows Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) with large leads over his Republican Counterparts. He’s currently cruising to the United States Senate.

Rasmussen Survey

Connecticut Senate 2010

State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D)  54 %
Former U. S. Rep. Robert “Rob” Simmons (R)  35 %
Others  4 %
Undecided  7 %

State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D)  56 %
Linda McMahon (R)  36 %
Others  3 %
Undecided  4 %

Job Approvals

President Obama

Approve  51 %
Disapprove  49 %

Governor M. Jodi Rell (R)

Approve  67 %
Disapprove  33 %

Merlin’s Thought:

What else can I say? The Democrats don’t have to worry about that Senate Seat anymore. Remarkable is that Blumenthal is dominating his Opposition despite Obama being barely over 50 % JA here. Final Results on Election Night maybe a little bit narrower; Still I expect Blumenthal winning round 15 Points.

Merlin on the Connecticut senate race…and few other Q Poll confirmations…….

Hello again Dog!

Despite  announcing her Retirement, that’s pretty high poll numbers….. indeed.

Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D)

Approve  84 %
Disapprove  11 %

Note from Q-Pac Pollster Douglas Schwartz

“Blumenthal’s Job Approval is unbelievable high, higher than any other politician we’ve ever measured, other than former President George W. Bush after 9/11.”

84 % is indeed strikingly high and comes close to that from North Dakota Governor John Hoeven (R) who entered the Senate Race this week.

Senator Christopher J. Dodd (D)

Approve  36 %
Disapprove  58 %

Senator Joseph “Joe” I. Lieberman (I)

Approve  39 %
Disapprove  54 %

Full Results at Quinnipiac University Polling Research Institute.

It will take a MAJOR Collapse for Blumenthal not to win this Race and hold the Seat for the Democrats. Therefore Merlin changes the Connecticut Senate Race from “Toss-Up” to “Likely Democrat”

Other Pundit Ratings

Election Projection has it as “Mod DEM Hold”
Stuart Rothenberg has it as “Clear Advantage Incumbent Party”
Charlie Cook has it as “Toss-Up” BUT with this Poll it’ll probably change today to at least “Leans Democrat” and maybe even further.

Merlin

Note:…….Check those numbers out and file them…..they have nowhere to go…. but down…..he’s a lock, but the finish line can’t have numbers this high…..actually the same appies to another state Attorney General ….New York’s Andrew Cuomo who is doing the exact same thing in New York and will run for Governor of the state….he’ll likewise make it…but both will have their number settle down by election day….

Blumenthal has a 30 point lead in the Connecticut Senate race…….

This from Public Policy Polling ……..

Blumenthal is unusually popular, especially in hyper partisan times when voters like few politicians. 59% have a favorable opinion of him to just 19% who see him negatively. It’s no surprise that he’s liked by 71% of Democrats and 60% of independents, but even Republicans view him favorably by a 37/35 margin. It doesn’t take a lot of hands to count the number of Democratic politicians with positive numbers among GOP voters these days.

Blumenthal leads Rob Simmons 59-28, Linda McMahon 60-28, and Peter Schiff 63-23. It would take an epic collapse for him not to be Connecticut’s next Senator.

Nuff said!……..

Update:……here’s the Rasmussen Poll for the race from Merlin…..

Rasmussen confirms PPP. Blumenthal up BIG in Connecticut Senate
