Bill Clinton will campaign for Nevada Senator Harry Reid…..Sharron Angle needs money…..And ditches the Tea Party stuff….

The ex-President trying to roll his successful pitch for Blanche Lincoln into some political capital for himself and the Democratic party will go to bat for the Senate Majority leader Reid…..

Meanwhile, it does seem that Reid’s opponent, Sharron Angle, has erased all the Tea Party stuff on her campaign site….and is trying to make her way back the middle of the GOP and fundraise…..

Interesting……

On Reid…..

Bill Clinton heads to Nevada next week to hold a campaign rally for Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

“The announcement sends a clear message that Reid’s high powered Democratic friends will be spending plenty of time in Nevada in the next five months ahead of the Nov. 2 general election, helping boost the prospects of Reid, who isn’t very popular among Nevada voters these days.”

On Angle…..

Until just a few days ago, you could find Sharron Angle’s policy positions on her campaign website — even ones as controversial as pulling the country out of the United Nations, privatizing Social Security and abolishing the Energy and Education departments.

But no more.

In the aftermath of the tea party favorite’s crushing win Tuesday night in Nevada’s Senate Republican primary, her website has been scrubbed. Now there’s just one page, with one message: Donate to defeat the entrenched Senate majority leader, Harry Reid, in November.

Michele Obama is going to Nevada for Harry Reid……

The First Lady will do several events in Nevada with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid…..

Showing unity with the ‘once doubtful to be reelected’ Senator…..

This visit will have Reid spending time with the First Lady and Lots of females  ……

Which can’t hurt Reid ‘come-back’ with the voters…..

Mrs. Obama headed to Reno and Las Vegas. In Reno, she headlines the 2010 Women’s Summit, hosted, according to the White House, by Reid. The summit will focus on “healthy women, healthy communities and a healthy planet.”
From there the first lady will go to Las Vegas, where she launches “Let’s Move Outside!,” a new component of her “Let’s Move” campaign to combat childhood obesity. Mrs. Obama is been promoting exercise for ages by now, with a gathering of kids last week on the South Lawn of the White House the latest example. Both the first lady and Reid will speak at this event.

No matter who is in the Oval Office, local officials are often asked to attend events when a president or first lady comes to town. But a week before the Nevada primary, Reid is clearly being highlighted by the White House. He benefits from Mrs. Obama’s official visit by being featured with her; it helps rallies his troops and assists Reid in appealing to female voters.

Pelosi signal’s Reid….Immigration can go ahead of Climate Change……

The House already has a Climate Change Bill down on paper and voted in…..

This is really about letting the Senate flush out the major points of any legislation……

Since the democrats have a bigger majority in the House…the hard part for this legislation…and any ..is the Senate….

Senator McCain knows this..which is why he came down for his states tougher enforcement a couple of days ago….

On the other hand Senator Reid would gain by embracing a Bill that would help immigrants in order to get his 10% of the vote (Latino ) to get re-elected in his state….

All politics can be local, egh?

Pelosi made the comments in a private meeting on Tuesday, according to a Democratic aide.

The aide stressed that the discussion was not about doing one of the high-profile issues instead of the other.

“The conversation was really about timing, not an either-or kind of thing, but timing,” said the aide, who described the talks as a routine meeting of bicameral leaders.

“It is all about what the Senate can move first and pass,” the aide said Wednesday. “Obviously on both of these items — immigration and comprehensive energy and climate legislation — we are waiting on the Senate to act.”

“If they [the Senate] can do immigration first, that is fine,” the aide continued, adding that Pelosi told Reid “if you could do immigration first that would work. Both of these initiatives have very strong support in the caucus to do.”

Both issues are high priorities for different constituencies in the Democratic party, and are also controversial. But climate change has been a key personal priority for Pelosi.

The House has already approved a climate bill and leaders are on record as saying the House will not take up immigration reform until the Senate acts.

President Barack Obama, however, has come under criticism from Hispanic lawmakers for not pushing more aggressively on immigration reform, and Reid recently said the Senate would look to move forward on the issue.
