Things get nasty in South Carolina Governors race…..2nd Affair alleged for Nikki Haley….

Well…..

It seems that Larry Merchant (A lobbiest, who up until today worked for LT. Gov. Andre Bauer’s campaign ) alleges he had a one stand with Haley….( he left Bauer’s campaign )

But admits he can’t offer ANY evidence to prove it…..

WTF?

Is this for real…Or another way the ‘Good Ole Boys’ are trying to stop Haley’s rise in the polls?

Haley…Whose parents are from India…Was born in South Caroline, and is a married mother of two and Tea Partier, She has been endorsed by Sarah Palin…..And  has surged in the polls* and seems good to take the GOP  nomination….

She just had another affair rumor shot down RedState….A Conservative Blog site that does’ t like SE too much and is ran by Erik Erickson who also works on John Kings new daily CNN program…..

Unless things get too stupid ……

And they already are…..

Lobbyist Larry Marchant admitted he had no proof to back up his allegation of a one-night stand with state Rep. Nikki Haley in 2008 and her campaign vehemently denied the allegation. The claim became the latest political drama for a state that was roiled when Gov. Mark Sanford made a tearful confession last summer to sneaking out of the country to rendezvous with an Argentine woman.

Earlier in the day, Marchant resigned from the campaign of Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, who is competing with Haley for the GOP nomination in the June 8 primary.

“It never happened. Absolutely not,” Haley said emphatically about Marchant’s claim during a debate with Bauer and the two other Republican candidates in Charleston. “This is just disgusting politics. Two or three months ago I was Nikki who? and nobody was saying anything and a couple weeks ago we started going double digits up in the polls and now we have had everything thrown at us.”

Haley’s campaign manager had the same message.

“As Nikki Haley rises in the polls, the good old boys in Columbia see their taxpayer-funded fraternity party coming crumbling down, and they will say or do anything to hold onto their power,” Tim Pearson said earlier. “This is South Carolina politics at its worst.”

* In Daniel’s latest Polling post she leads the GOP field by at least 10%…..That includes Lt Gov Bauer…..

ScottP…….The GOP…….

Happy Memorial Day everyone. While BBQs and swimming pools are a lot of fun, remember those who gave their lives so that we can enjoy those things in peace and freedom.

Reading Jack’s posts over the weekend I have to say he is right. The so called “liberal media” is NOT holding these free market enterprisers to task when it comes to their criticism of the federal government’s handling of the BP spill.

It needs to be pointed out loudly and strongly that the kind of hands off federal government these folks like Rand Paul, Rush Limbaugh, Jim DeMint, Glenn Beck, etc. all want would be POWERLESS to force a private company to clean up their mess.

I used to have an old man neighbor who thought all doctors were quacks and bragged about ignoring their advice to exercise and watch his diet. Then after a massive heart attack he claimed medical science wasn’t doing enough to save him and others in his predicament.

The Republicans are like that crazy old neighbor, claiming no one should interfere on the rights of BP and others to “drill baby drill” but once there is a massive spill they suddenly blame the government for not doing enough to stop it.

Americans need to ask themselves, is “crazy old man neighbor” really a model of leadership?

Scott Brown is the Senator from Massachusetts and he’s got a lot of Democrats at home….

And so the Dog pointed out a montha ago….. don’t expect him to follow the party line all the time….

That would make him a visitor to the old Kennedy seat…..

He’s making that point clear already with this from PoliticalWire……

Brown Bucks Party on Filibuster

Sen. Scott Brown (R-MA) “is putting some muscle behind his independent image by twice voting against his own party and questioning the use of the filibuster,” CNN reports.

Brown took to the Senate floor “to announce he would vote for cloture, or to end a Republican filibuster, on a bill extending unemployment benefits and tax credits. This, despite the fact he opposes the bill and technically the filibuster helped his cause.”

Said Brown: “I have very serious concerns about the overall cost of the bill, but my vote for cloture signals that I believe we need to keep the process moving.”

Jon Stewart visit’s FOX News and finds them wanting…….

Jon Stewart, who already had a reputation for lobbing word grenades at media personalities and outlets that displease him, this week delivered one of the most sustained criticisms of Fox News ever heard on Fox News.

That network, lambasted by many on the left as an arm of the conservative movement, is a “cyclonic perpetual emotion machine” that has “taken reasonable concerns about this president and this economy and turned it into a full-fledged panic about the next coming of Chairman Mao,” Mr. Stewart told Bill O’Reilly of Fox.

Parts of the interview were shown on Wednesday and Thursday evenings on Fox News’s most popular program, “The O’Reilly Factor,” and were widely praised by television critics. But Mr. Stewart had a lot more to say about Fox in the portions of the interview that were edited out of the television broadcast.

This week, invited onto “The O’Reilly Factor” by its host, Mr. O’Reilly, Mr. Stewart asserted that Fox News was “the most passionate and sells the clearest narrative of any news organization,” then asked with a smirk, “are you still referring to it in that manner?”

Mr. O’Reilly defended Fox as a news organization and cited a poll last month by the Public Policy Polling organization that showed Fox News was more widely trusted than any other television news organization.

Mr. Stewart said Fox had been able to “mainstream conservative talk radio.” On television on Wednesday night, the exchange ended there. But in the studio, Mr. Stewart swung harder, saying Fox had mixed the “media arm of a political party” with “a little bit” of objectivity, something that White House officials have also asserted in recent months.

Fox News said the interview was edited only for time. A video of the unedited interview was posted on BillOReilly.com and on foxnews.com on Thursday night.

Listen folks…we all know where FOX News is coming fromn…it’s no secret…..But here’s a fact……The FOX news channel consistently out polls all the other cable channels…..not sometimes….all the time…a lot of some bodies watch their news…..even the Dog sometimes watches their news to see what the other half says……

There we said it…we sometimes tune FOX News in……Agh!
