Steven Seagal…the 'LAWMAN'…coming to you from A&E……

The new original series “Lawman” staring the martial arts 90’s actor, Steven Seagal, did a pretty good job for A&E in the ratings, attracting 3.5 million viewers…..breaking the cable stations most-watched original series launches…..in the reality show Seagal actually goes out in the street as a Louisiana deputy sheriff……

Note: Seagal has not publicized that he has been ‘on the job’ with the department for 20 years…..

American Student Amanda Knox Guilty of Murder in Italy…..

Could this be the reason while Amanda Knox was found guilty?

……..In testimony at her 11-month trial, Kercher’s friends described what they considered Knox’s bizarre behavior when she was brought into the police station for questioning the day after the murder. Knox began doing cartwheels and handstands and snuggling with Sollecito. “We were all crying, and I didn’t see Amanda crying,” said Robyn Butterworth. “She and Raffaele were kissing and joking.”

But on the stand, Knox explained: “When I feel uneasy or nervous, I act a bit foolish.”…….

In Italy, sentences are often shortened after many appeals are done…..Ms Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison…..

The Predator (UAV) war in Pakistan…..and Aftghanistan, heats up…..

A secret war policy to use Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) has been bumped up in recent months…..I did a post on the aircraft in mid-Novemeber…..The New York Times has done a piece on the policy and the ramifications of the policy to the Pakistani Military, Americans….and the  Pakistani public….

Aftgahnisatn is a declared war zone..the United States operates UAV’s there at it’s own free will…..

America’s Central Intelligence Agency, once free of the restraints against hunting down bad guys, and killing them, after 9/11, has expanded that policy (under National Command Authority) , and found success without losing any american lives….by adopting the Israeli policy of going after ‘soft targets’ that are on a authorized list…the CIA, Army and Air Force have eliminated a good many bad guys…the program on the face of it …is a success…

The Pakistani military has been secretly cooperating with the United States for years…. Predator drones have been stationed in the country, with a small contingent of troops to run the aircraft….that fact was not well know to the civilians of the country, until a little while ago….the United States has been giviing The Pakistani’s intel, and access to it’s spy satellites data for a while….all of this information has been out there in the public domain……

While the UAV attacks have been sucessful..they cause problems for the Pakistani military who have to deal with their countrymen….

The Pakistani civilians are not all happy with the U.S. UAV’s who attack bad guys from the sky and sometimes make collateral hits, and damage…..

The fact is…the program is expanding, according to White House, and Pentagon reports…..and as with the Israeli campaigns….the weapons system is an unqualified success, that causes civilian political problems…

For now the policy and program continues………

Note: The most widly used UAV for airstrikes is the Predator model’s, operated by the Army, Air Force and the CIA……

Facebook just keeps growing!……I mean REALLY GROWING!!!

The social network site, Facebook, had just signed up 300 million members in September!…Do you understand that?…300 hundred million people are connected to their network!…That is the amount of people in the entire United States of America!…But this is what really blows me away….They signed up half of those people in the last year!……Oh , wait a minute…It’s December, right?….Well then let’s make that number 350 million!

……Twitter reportedly has 69 million, and they are growing also…but nobody seems to be able to touch Facebook…not even the big boys Google and YouTube…..

I wonder if they would lend me some of those signup’s?…just few hundred thousand so I could quit my day job?……you think they’d do it?

Wait a minute?! ….is somebody checking their numbers ?

Those numbers are just UNBELIVEABLE !

Counterpoint…..how much is enough in the Tiger Woods story?

I very good piece from the LA Times about the times we live in…with a hunger for gossip, sensationalism and reality….

The counterpoint in the piece is good…Woods has controlled his image top maximize his pocket…he now finds himself in a situation that demands privacy…..At what do we..the public…cut him some slack?…Does he have that right?……How much of a public person is he?….And is he allowed to be a private person?….And isn’t this just between him…and his wife?

Good piece …should be required reading for every ‘public person’…..

The United States and Russia will extend the START 1 (nuclear weapons) treaty…..

With the old START 1 treaty running out tomorrow, Satuarday…that’s good news for both countires and the planet…..
