commentary on Politics and a little bit of everything else

Women have a very good day June 8…….Lincoln, Whitman, Fiorina and Angle win their primaries….

Women win big in Tuesday primaries

[ Clockwise…..From top left.   Lincoln, Whitman, Fiorina and Angle ]

Well, Well, Well……..

Look at this !

When I went to sleep last night it didn’t sink in on me that it was strong female night…..

It has now……

My guys here who don’t like women in politics are going to have to swallow hard……

I already did a Lincoln post, He, he, he……

Again…..Am I ever happy to call a race wrong with voters doing the right thing, YES!

With women in California……

Same thing really….

Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina are both rich women who made their bones thru the business world…

Both where able to spend large amounts of money in their campaigns…..

They will both lose in the end…

But they will both put up good fights…..

Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer are in for good fights…

Angle in Nevada is Reid’s dream candidate…

A Tea Partier…

She is going to get battered …….

We’ll see if her positions ring true with the general voters on that state…..

All in all not a bad day for the Democrats in general….

And a good day for women around the country……

Daniel…… California Field Poll: Today, the Numbers for the United States Senate Republican Primary

Hello Folks and Good Morning!

Yesterday we’ve had Field Poll Numbers for the Republican Governor Primary.

Well, today we’ll turn to the United States Senate Race and the lastest Numbers from Field showing former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina (R-CA) opening up a 15-Point over former U. S. Rep. Tom Campbell (R-CA). The Poll is pretty much consistent now with other Surveys we’ve seen over the last week.
Strange things can happen during the Final Days of a Campaign (see AL Dem Primary) BUT at this Point looks like the Winner.

The Numbers:

California Senate

Republican Primary

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina  37 %
Former U. S. Rep. Tom Campbell  22 %
State Representative Chuck DeVore  19 %
Others  2 %
Undecided  20 %

http://www.sacbee.com/2010/06/05/2800139/gop-voters-like-fiorinas-chances.html

Analysis:

While GOP Voters in CA thinking Fiorina can beat Boxer I still have serious doubts about it BUT I’ve already said that.

Sarah Palin……on Carly Fiorina……

From MyDD……

Palin writes this on Facebook……

The title of her comment was….”Lets shake up California…..”

I’d like to tell you about a Commonsense Conservative running for office in California this year. She grew up in a modest home with a school teacher dad, worked her way through several colleges, and then entered an arena where few women had tread. Through a combination of hard work, perseverance, and common sense, she proved the naysayers wrong to reach the top of her field, where she led with distinction – facing hard truths, making tough decisions, and showing real leadership through a rocky transition period. Where others had failed, her company had weathered the storm and settled on a stronger new foundation.

Her name is Carly Fiorina, and I’m proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.

Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, she’s running for the right reasons. She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. She’s not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize (sic) job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America’s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career……

Merlin on Barbara Boxer’s California Senate race……

Hi Dog!

A new Statewide Survey in the Goden State shows Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer (D) may very well have the Race of her Political Life in 2010. She is well under 50 % and barely leads her Republican Challengers.

Rasmussen Survey

California Senate 2010

Boxer, Fiorina and Campbell……..

Incumbent Senator Barbara Levy Boxer (D)  45 %
former U. S. Rep. Tom Campbell (R)  41 %
Others  4 %
Undecided  10 %

Incumbent Senator Barbara Levy Boxer (D)  46 %
Businesswoman Carly Fiorina (R)  42 %
Others  7 %
Undecided  5 %

Incumbent Senator Barbara Levy Boxer (D)  47 %
State Assemblyman Chuck DeVore (R)  42 %
Others  4 %
Undecided  10 %

Job Approvals

President Obama

Approve  58 %
Disapprove  41 %

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger (R)

Approve  27 %
Disapprove  72 %

Merlin’s Observation:

Despite a horrible JA from the “Governator” and decent Numbers from the President Senator Boxer’s Numbers are pretty underwhelming. That should be concerning.

Merlin

This from Rasmussen on the race…….

The Democratic-leaning political gravity of California will certainly give Senator Boxer a boost in that effort.”

Boxer leads former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina 46% to 42%, virtually unchanged from January. Another seven percent (7%) would vote for some other candidate, while five percent (5%) are undecided. Boxer led Fiorina by nine points in November and 10 points in September.

The incumbent also holds a four-point lead over former Congressman Tom Campbell, 45% to 41%. Four percent (4%) like another candidate, and 10% are undecided. Boxer held the same lead over Campbell, just after he joined the race in January.

The fact that Boxer’s support has been stuck in the mid-40s for several surveys no matter which Republican she is matched against continues to suggest that the race for now is about her rather than about those who are running against her.

The Republicans do not have their stuff together going into the primary to pick someone to run against Barabar Boxer in California..

The race to get a Republican to run against Barbara Boxer in California’s House District (Ca 6th) is turning into a three-ring circus……it now involves multimillionaire Carly Fiorina…who has lent herself $2.5 million, because she can’t raise too enough money……Orange County Assemblyman Chuck DeVore……a tried and true GOP conservative……and finally a maybe third-party to the date…..U.S. Rep. Tom Cambell who is running for Governor…but appears to be getting ready to switch to running against the other two GOPer’s……

We’ll see how it comes out…..but if the race turns into a three way….Fiorina may be able to walk out the victor…..while the guys split the vote…..
